All of the divisions at work got shuffled around yesterday. I'm still not exactly sure who my boss is now.

Mourneau will throw out the first pitch on Opening Day.
Or is that Oupening day?
BREAKING: Star center fielder Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels are finalizing a record-breaking 12-year contract worth more than $430 million, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. Details: https://t.co/bROnnC11Uh
It's going to take a while to top that one, unless the dollar hit peso-like value.
I think a good portion of it has already been earned in past performance
A friend of mine and I were just discussing this. He'll obviously lose a step or six. He won't be playing CF by the end of this deal.
But he's got such a good batting eye and he's got that crazy rare mix of contact and power that make me think that he'll be a truly great player for many years.
So far, he's basically been Joey Votto, if you gave Votto Rickey-like speed. If he came down to, say... Joey Votto levels, that would still be pretty amazing.
He's already at a premium position and can field it right now so there's the corner spot in five years and then DH in ten. There's a more graceful slope for moving him as he declines, unlike Pujols who started nearly at the bottom. Harper only has first base available to him (until the DH comes to the NL) plus possibly can't field the corner spot already.
Yep. Barring the truly unfortunate, this looks nothing like the Pujols or Hamilton contracts, either in terms of typical aging down the defensive spectrum, or health issues that could hinder performance or precipitate more rapid movement down the spectrum.
In addition, those two came from other organizations, who benefitted from earlier performance at lower salary. The Angels have already benefited greatly from Trout's past seasons.
Having retained the 21st century’s Willie Mays, I find myself wondering if LAAA will ever get him to the World Series.
Well, the Pujols contract will be off the books starting in 2022. The Angels brilliantly backloaded that contract. He'll be paid $30M in 2021 at the age of 41.
I'm listening to Nationals/Braves (because no Twins today) and we have a Ryan LeMarre sighting with Atlanta!
He owns Spring Training!
Now I've switched to Rangers/Brewers, and we have both a Danny Santana sighting and a Zack Granite sighting for Texas!
We doing a bracket this year?
Doesn’t Kelly set this up?
The good news is all the accent marks are going the same direction.
