What exactly was Marcell Ozuna trying to accomplish yesterday?

That play was Raul Ibanez level hilarity
I remember when I thought the Cardinals might’ve actually lucked out by getting Ozuna instead of Stanton.
BR finally has 2019 WAR figures. Trout leads at 1.8 rWAR. One Twin appears on the top-10 MLB leaderboard.
That's almost halfway to Jason Kubel's career rWAR.
Hopefully Trout only misses one game with the groin pull.
they also have 2019 team SRS* now too. Twins in fourth, and Mets were knocked down several positions yesterday.
*based on the strength of teams played and the runs differential
After days of my Facebook feed filled with "should be released soon!" posts, we finally have a photo of a black hole. Outstanding
It's like Interstellar, from a whole lot more lightyears away.
Wow.
Already at 3 inches of snow. Started 2 hours ago.
Ours started sometime during the night. We're nearing a foot already, and it's not supposed to end until sometime Friday. I think I made the right call waiting on Dad's funeral until next week.
Woke up to thundersnow. This is fine.
I'm supposed to check in at the hospital tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The radar says think again. I hate this $&!#.
That has to be really frustrating. This weather has us all frustrated, but to have to possibly delay an important medical procedure because of it--well, i really can't even imagine.
Back to Rochester for De Jong.
I sort of made that call in the game log last night.
Can we send Vasquez back down before the game is over or does that have to wait until tomorrow?
I believe the team does not have to wait. Trades have happened mid-game before, forcing the affected players to leave immediately.
Despite no reliever pitching more than one inning last night, the Twins apparently needed a fresh arm for the bullpen. Chase De Jong goes down, Andrew Vasquez comes up.
Of course, the way De Jong pitched last night may have had something to do with it, too....
I'm a minute late and a dollar short again.
But added snark.
De Jong threw 46 pitches so there was no way he was going to be available for Wednesday's game. Until someone from AAA comes up and shows they belong, I think the Twins will keep shuttling pitchers back and forth when the relievers aren't available to pitch in the next game. I can't blame them. These guys are essentially replacement level pitchers being used as groundskeepers and it's better to keep shuttling back and forth as the rules allow instead of adding more relievers to the bullpen and dropping bench guys.
In less than a month, UP's Big Boy locomotive will be travelling from the shop in Cheyenne, WY to Ogden, UT for the 150th anniversary of the golden spike. This will be the first time that any Big Boy has travelled under its own power since the early 1960s. Expect crowds the entire route.
It never rains but it pours. Or maybe, in this case, it never snows but it blizzards. The funeral director called today to tell me we won't be able to have Dad's burial Monday. We'll still have the funeral, but the cemetery already had water on it, and now Bomb Cyclone II is going to make it impossible to dig a grave properly, if they can even get to the gravesite. It's not good, but what can you do? We'll have to have a burial service at some future time.
