Hope everyone enjoys the day you all have off apparently. I’m gonna go to work now.

I don't have the day off, but I am sitting in my lazy boy with my work laptop "getting some work done".
I feel ya on this one. Working from my parents' house and not working too hard.
I have the day off because I took it. And the house has had a stomach bug this week.
Honest Abe is ridiculously excited for Passover Seder tonight. He is asking so many questions about Elijah. It's quite cute.
Question you (or others) might be able to address:
Is it alright for Christians to do a Seder meal? Are there aspects that make it more or less acceptable for them to do so? Obviously they share the religious history, but not the entire relevance of the event.
Growing up, I participated in a couple that seemed to be done reverently, putting things in context, very well designed as experiential teaching, etc. But now I can see how it might not be appreciated. Thoughts?
I would think so. (After all, the Last Supper was a Seder.) I have always felt welcome at the many I've attended (and other Christians have been at some as well) because of the shared history, but also the universal message of fighting injustice (tied to the flight from bondage in Egypt).
What the Pirate said.
Our church has done a Seder meal in the past. We're doing a Communion thing tonight, but I don't think it was an intentional thing to move away from the Seder meal, so I wouldn't be surprised if it returns in the future.
There's a spot for a parentgood/FKB column on Monday if anyone wants it.
Twins are 4th in OBP, 2nd in OPS, 9th in runs.
Doesn't seem like it. Maybe it's the Last in G.
Ah. Didn't think of that.
Yeah, they are 3rd in the AL in runs per game. They are tied for 10th in MLB, so the NL seems to be scoring a lot more.
Can someone help me out with a Game of Thrones semi-spoiler?
Season two, Jon Snow's uncle Benjin (sp?) rides north of the wall, and some frequent mention is made of hid disappearance. He is not found. Season 3 halfway through, there is no mention of him. Is this a dangling plot line we should let go or does he come up again in some form? It's been driving us nuts. If we know to forget about it, we will. Else, knowing to not forget is sufficient.
I'm trying to remember, but didn't he reappear in the show to help Bran get to the children? That was basically coldhands without being actually named it.
So Kat, the mother of the Stark children is apparently killed at a wedding, but briefly shows up (in bad shape). Are we going to see any more of her (or maybe I missed it).
She shows up in the books again. I think they intended to have her appear in the show but didn't have room. The books get longer but the show didn't add episodes to compensate.
DB Weiss stated they didn’t use Lady Stoneheart because there was no way they were asking an actor of her caliber to play a recurring zombie. Fans wanted Lady Stoneheart but it was never going to happen.
He comes back a couple of times to save the day, and gets people out of the way of some imminent death at the hand of White Walkers. Once to save Bran, once to save Jon.
I thought both times felt sort of out of nowhere, with no real motivation. Sort of a deus ex ranger situation.
I had to look it up, but Arya's (Nymeria) and Jon's (Ghost). Nymeria showed up while Arya was on the road heading to Winterfell last season, and Ghost is still at Winterfell. Or at least was at the beginning at the current season.
Tim Anderson being suspended "for his conduct after the benches cleared". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm gonna go ahead and say it, that seems pretty racist of MLB.
Starting pitchers should be suspended for 9 games, not 5. Make them actually skip a start.
Union will never allow it, because pitchers would lose more money
Maybe they could suspended them for nine games, but only five would be without pay.
Yes. I wasn't considering the money side.
Tonight's game is postponed. Doubleheader tomorrow starting at 3:00 Central.
Wow, a real old-time doubleheader. Usually that doesn't happen till later in the year. I think the labor agreement rules stipulate that after a team plays 3 day-night doubleheaders that the players have to approve doing any other day-night doubleheaders since players generally prefer the traditional type doubleheader since they don't have to hang around for a long time between games.
This is so so so good. Francisco Cervelli frames a pitch that he doesn't catch, gets the strike call as the ball rolls to the backstop, and immediately asks the ump for a new one. pic.twitter.com/iZ3Z3CWEkK
Huh. My definition of so, so, so good is vastly different than Mr. Porter's.
Will robo-umps require catching the ball or does any ball in the rulebook zone count, regardless of where it stops?
If the catcher pulls his glove back on the high heater, will the robo-ump take it in the mask?
I’m having my first beer in about six weeks, an Alaskan Amber Ale. Been off the Oxy for a couple of days, took my last Flexeril last night and only had one dose of Tylenol this morning. Did cardio rehab today, some canine Frisbee, a little bit of raking, and dug into Younger Daughter’s Subaru. I’m changing spark plugs, wires and air filter. To pull the plugs you have to remove the whole air intake assembly on the passenger side and the battery and windshield washer reservoir on the drivers side. I got that far and started losing light, and the plugs are too damn tight for me to bust given my lifting/arm use restrictions. I sprayed them with some penetrating oil and will see if the air ratchet can get them loose tomorrow. I feel like I’m finally turning a corner in my recovery, but, you know, baby steps.
Good on ya!
Awesome, Twayn.
Also, the effing designers who design engines that are extraordinarily difficult to perform basic maintenance on! Come on!
I recall trying to change the plugs on our Toyota Sienna. My recollection is that only one side was accessible to normal folk. W. T. F.?!

Because the Sox wear black?
Anderson suspended for "epithet."
