Listened to a recent podcast with Duff, and it reminded me that I still can't get over the fact that Axl is an accomplished pianist.

Quality grades for the FO
And I don't think I've ever seen the Twins on top of the Beane Count, but they've clawed their way past Houston.
first in HRs but 10th in BBs does not seem sustainable. But I'll take it for now.
I think I've seen it noted somewhere that while they're not taking a lot of walks, they're not just up there flailing away, either.
Now, whether opposing pitchers will make adjustments to this "patient aggressive" philosophy, I couldn't say. You'd think they would have tried by now.
Twins are #1 right now at swinging at strikes, and middle of the pack at swinging at balls outside the zone. So not the worst plate discipline; they're just very aggressive and so far it's working. Hopefully if teams stop pitching them in the zone they'll be able to take their walks.
Astudillo and Rosario both are pseudo-successful living outside the strike zone; Sano, not so. We'll see
Oh, I think there will definitely be counters to the "patient aggressive" philosophy. I wouldn't be surprised to see teams try an "off-speed social contract" or employ a lot of "existentialist shifts".
fit for a Prince
Axl is also an accomplished whistler.
It's too bad he couldn't stay sane. My favorite debut album.
Does anyone know whose copy of "Gravity's Rainbow" I have? And do you want it back?
I think I sent it to you. And ... not really.
Anyone else want it?
Nah, my copy is stopping doors just fine.
If there ever existed someone who actually merited the adjective “inimitable,” it was Leon Redbone.
He was one of the best things that could be said about Budweiser
When my Dad was battling cancer, Leon Redbone came to play at our local theater. My Dad was a huge fan, so I got tickets and brought him. It is still one of my fondest memories of time with him. It was a great show.
In a few weeks our town will be having it's annual Summerfest. They've asked local businesses to stay open for a "power hour" and serve refreshments. So Novak Law will be open that day, and we'll be serving Justice.
Sorry, that's a typo. We'll be serving just ice.
Booo-urns.
seems pretty Vanilla to me.
