We are having a snowstorm today, and it is not "refreshing" at all. All of my worship services are cancelled. And you know it's got to be bad, because I just saw that the liquor store is closed.
We had our Christmas celebration with the wife's family last night. Lots of food that's bad for your heart but good for the soul and a competitive round of the dice game in which Mrs. Twayn scored a nice set of headphones and I got a bottle of Jagermeister. I also learned this weekend that the reason Christmas is abbreviated as Xmas is because Χριστός.
What dice game?
Wrapped gifts, mostly stocking stuffer type items, are placed in a pile. Dice are passed around and rolled. When you roll doubles, you get to pick a gift. When the gifts are all claimed, you unwrap them so everyone can see what they are. They you set a timer (we did 8 minutes) and go again, only when you roll doubles you get to take a gift from someone else. The $25 Target and Amazon gift cards changed hands many, many times.
Nice!
It rained pretty steadily yesterday afternoon until well after midnight. Rain at 36° F is the ultimate December weather insult. We haven’t had snow all month.
Yeah, I hate this kind of weather. The snow we have has a nasty crust of ice on top, and the outdoor skating rinks are unusable. No fun for the kids or grownups.
Yep. That last 5F of warmth out there is evil.
Whoa, that was one solid chair nap
I was treated to a soak in a decidedly lukewarm hot tub at a motel in central Iowa.
i’m still surprised new britain bo hasn’t popped in and regaled us with a tale about a 110C sauna in finland or something.
Sounds pretty good, except the 230F part (200F will suffice). And birch branches. And a snowbank to dive into 🙂
