I was a bit sad I’d have to wait until I got home to catch up on new Good Place episodes. However, I found out when I’m connected to Netflix here, they’re released as they come out. Because it’s apparently a Netflix Original. Who knew?

R. I. P. Buck Henry, at age eighty-nine.
I put him in that Mel Brooks/Carl Reiner triumvirate. I remember in school wondering more than once who this mystery guy is that's hosting SNL.
So, in the last couple months or so I've been able to pick up a few "first time" autographs on Twins players cards; time to spice up the Co'C a little today...
#1: a veteran card I finally found at a reasonable price
#2: recently gone but not forgotten
#3&4: up and coming prospects
#5-8: recent draftees
kudos to anyone who can come up with any of these...
They need a new Killebrew to teach these guys right.
I can legitimately say I've never heard of any of those guys.
Wait, I remember reading about #5, but I couldn't have put a name to the story.
I barely remember #2, heard of #3
Currently listed by Nick Nelston as the Twins 14th most critical asset
No. 3 was the Twins Minor League Player of the Year.
One of them pitched for the Twins in 2017 and 2018.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have seen maybe 5 full Twins games in the last 2 years.
I had never heard of number 1.
And I was surprised when I saw he never played post-Senators. He's darn lucky he got a Twins card. He had some cool players on his Charlotte minor league team with him.
Former DBack (and before that Twins prospect) Alex Romero involved in some insanity
My five favorites in order are Earl Weaver Baseball (man did I waste a ridiculous amount of time with that game), Baseball Stars, OOTP, Diamond Mind, and RBI Baseball.
I had a board game when I was a kid. Pretty simple. Roll dice to determine outcomes of plate appearances. Not a lot of sophisticated data-driven stuff, but I played it a lot in the early 1970s. I wonder if my parents still have it....probably not. ☹️
Or maybe it had a spinner?
Yes, I also had a dice game I played all the time before getting Earl Weaver. Sadly, it was completely random, so Al Newman was just as likely to homer as Kirby.
I had something like this, but not as fancy. But, I kept score in a notebook and complied stats and made an 8 team league out of it. Saved all my work on a spreadsheet. Its on a 3.5" disk somewhere. Also a football wood board and did the same thing.
I played lots and lots of Strat-O-Matic growing up.
Diamond Mind, RBI Baseball, MVP '05, Baseball Simulator 1.000, Earl Weaver
RBI Baseball, Base Wars, Baseball Stars, and Ken Griffey Jr. for me.
MVP 04 or 05 is 1, the other is #2.
Then Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run
A co-worker gave me his old copy of Pursuit the Pennant (based on the 1987 season) last year. I've only played one game total (a friend and I played a 1987 ALCS Tigers-Twins matchup), and it was incredibly fun once I got the hang of it. I would see myself wasting tons of time with that game.
I really think it’s time for Josh Donaldson to shit or get off the pot.
StL is getting hyped about a possible Arenado trade. And I'm personally thinking he'd look great with a TC on his hat
Yeah, it sounds like the Twins are starting to lose interest in, or patience with, Donaldson. Can’t blame them. Gleeman says they’re looking closer at the trade market now.
I didn't realize that Arenado had an opt out on his contract after 2021. That makes a trade for him a lot riskier.
Talk is that it would be renegotiated with the trade.
Would also need him to waive the no-trade clause. I'd love to see him in Minnesota but definitely some hurdles there.
Arenado might be my favorite active player, so I’d be stoked if he came to Minnesota.
Colorado’s GM claims he’s the one who suggested Arenado have an opt-out in his contract extension — if signing Ian Desmond to play first and letting DJ LeMahieu walk so they could pay the same money to Daniel Murphy isn’t enough of a sign Bridich is a tool, this should confirm it.
