Twins had the day off, finish April with 19-12 record, a 99 win pace. #Stat-o-matic

Two B-52 ultrafortress and Twitter fighter jets just flew over my house as a thank you for healthcare workers. Maybe the air force could have helped hand out meals to disadvantaged families or health care professionals.
In the rest of the world the noise these aircraft make precedes death and destruction, but here it’s supposed to lift up my spirits? The noise rattled the windows and the vibration set off a car alarm on my street.
A ridiculous waste of money. If they really wanted to show their appreciation they’d take all that money that was wasted on jet fuel and bought a few thousand masks, gloves and gowns and donated them to the hospitals that need them.
Maybe the jets were flying to Maryland to launch an attack on its supply of hidden test kits.
I mostly agree. Flying museums -- when making required flights, might as well do them where the public can admire them than in restricted private airspace.
As an Air Force brat, we used to go to air shows, and I've seen both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels. (I also used to do models and probably incidentally breathed in a fair share of airplane glue). The shows would always start with a sneaky low-altitude blowover, and end with a single plane flying out away from the group. Moving.
But I agree, spend the $ on ventilators/PPEs and save lives.
Maybe he was tripping and thought they were spiders?
I watched the Dock Ellis documentary on Netflix about a year ago, and it was quite enlightening. IIRC, he basically wanted to show the Big Red Machine that he wasn't intimidated.
We'll, the first 3+ batters got the message.
Sounds like most everyone at SKOR was let go today.
the candy bar?
That's a bummer. I would rather listen to Brian Oake than KFAN, so I used SKOR for my local sports coverage. I thought Derek Whetmore and Matthew Coller were both really good (as is Mackey, of course).
Mackey and Judd are still there.
They might be the only ones left.
Ancient History, but did Brian Oake used to be on 97.1? The bright good morning voice
Who's heard but never seen
Advanced Ancient History: The same Brian Oake who was on REV 105. Still the the second greatest TC rock radio station.
1. Radio K
2. REV 105
3. KOOL 108 (in the 80s-90s)
4. KQ (Pre-Clear Channel—roughly until 1980)
5. The Current
6.
7.
8.
9.
100. Cities 97
Whatever happened to Tony Lee (KQ dude who did Talk with Tak and Ebola Polka)?
Just for record for those unfamiliar, I detest Brian Oake. Everytime I would turn in a station... any station... it seemed like he was on prattling about his superior music knowledge. I remember him hosting the morning show in the 90s with Mary Lucia and just wanting him to stfu
Rev 105 was my introduction to music that mattered. Man, so long ago., but I think I still have their T-shirt around somewhere.
Their lone REV Sampler alone got me into about 7-10 bands.
Peter Jesperson's Shakin Street on Monday nights was like taking a grad school class on hip music.
I’m glad you included 70 eras KQ. You’ll hear a pretty broad selection and “deep cuts” at that time.
Indeed. First time I ever heard The Replacements was on their Sunday Night Homegrown Show. They played about 5 songs from Sorry Ma, and a fan was born. They also had a program called For Headphones Only that was must listen if a young fellow had any "flower" on hand. Was my first exposure to Eno as well as Todd Rundgren's freakout masterpiece, A Wizard, a True Star. FWIW, you needed cable to pick it up down in Mankato back then, so you couldn't listen in your car. It's been so long since it was any good, but I often forget how far that station fell.
I am an unabashed basher of C97, but it's gotta be better than KS95, right? That is one station I never gave the time of day to (though they might have tried to give it to me).
Maybe #100 was wee bit harsh, but I really did not like that station. It was white bread with mayo. No meat.
I've mentioned many times here, but I was subjected to #100 unwillingly for many years, so I'm no apologist. That is an apt description though. But I also use to eat white bread and mayo sandwiches, so who knows what to believe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I burned through a lot of crappy ditch weed with For Headphones Only.
Apparently the allegedly good player the Cleveland Baseball Team got in return for Kluber (not glorified fourth outfielder Delino DeShields, Jr.) is getting popped with an 80-game PED suspension whenever baseball returns. Well done, Cleveland.
Yeah, that one wasn’t even remotely an “oops” medication or tangential chemical substance. Horse steroids... “go big or go home,” as they neigh say.
I love going through the birthdays on IMDB, recognizing an actor/actress, then trying to remember from where. Happy Birthday, John Diehl
Last day to vote on your play-in seeds.

So what is the backstory behind Dock Ellis attempting to hit all the Reds batters?

"Reserve Clase"?
Also, the horse steroid comment led me down an awful rabbit hole about race horses.
Can we kick the fantasy baseball draft can down the road another couple weeks?
Sadly, the Big Fella recently died.
