  2. I gave Pepper's recipe a shot. Oven is warming now, so I'll be putting the topping on momentarily.

      1. Delicious! My only issue was that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make the topping into pebbles. Then, it congealed in the fridge overnight to become something closer to landscaping rocks (but who cares because it still tasted great!).

        1. I'm glad it turned out, landscaping rocks notwithstanding! Were you using a pastry cutter or some other tool for that step?

Has there been any discussion or articles written about why the St. Paul Saints would leave their cushy money making machine of Independent baseball to join up with the Twins and lose their fun and freedom and players ? From a Twins fans standpoint, yes it would be awesome to have an affiliate literally across the river but what do the Saints get out of it? If the Saints were with the Twins, do you think they could still do an Astro the Grouch Bobblehead giveaway?

    1. I've wondered about that, too. I think I saw somewhere that the Saints put out a statement that they weren't interested, which makes perfect sense to me.

    3. I’ve wondered for a while why the Twins haven’t moved their AAA affiliate into the Central time zone. Having their AAA team in another city on the Mississippi would be cool, and they’ve had certainly opportunities to take the New Orleans affiliate recently. Memphis was an expansion team in 1998, but that was during the time when Old Man Pohlad was actively trying to move or kill his team for the insurance buyout money.

      Nashville would make a ton of sense, too, and it seems like they would’ve had an opportunity to move there.

      I guess they either really like Rochester, or really want to stay out of the PCL. Maybe they’re worried they’d eventually be stuck with a team in Edmonton again.

      1. I have been hosting KFAN's Initials Game during our family Friday night happy hours. I would be happy to host it here somehow.

        (Full disclosure, I've never heard KFAN's Initials Game on the radio because it's, you know, on KFAN. Still, some people who do listen have helped me refine my clues during the past few weeks.)

  8. Pork shoulder has been in the oven (275° F) for approaching 2.5 hours. I briefly considered doing a 20 hour sous vide cook, then finishing in the oven, but couldn’t get the timing to line up right. So, I’m using J. Kenji López-Alt’s recipe, which I haven’t tried before.

    1. I’ve got brisket on the smoker and m hanging in the hammock. I’m just missing a beer.
