Head on over to today's moments post. All 16 polls for Round 2 are up and barely anyone has voted this week.
*feeling unappreciated*
In the least-shocking decision imaginable, property bought on Lake Minnetonka while knowing it is subject to a public easement is... subject to a public easement.
Home Owner: I know there's an easement, but I'm rich and I don't think rules apply to me.
Court: The conservation district can use the easement you admit to knowing about.

I mean, what's the point of even being rich if you can't do whatever the F you want?
Buuuut the angle of the public dock is kind of weird. I don't know why it couldn't be a little closer to perpendicular to the shoreline.
That would probably raise the taxable value of the property by $200,000....
Did we not already talk about this?
Yes, when he filed his case. This is the update that the judge ruled exactly like expected.
We got the update that the school's summer daycare program is officially "on" based on the latest order.
However, due to CDC and MDH guidelines they are going to have to limit the number of kids (no surprise) and will be canceling contracts of some families to get down to the appropriate number.
That's going to put some parents in a really difficult spot, we signed up really early in the early access window so we should make the cut I guess?
Time to tell the girl to start advertising her nanny services!
For sure, demand is going to be through the roof this summer. We still haven't decided whether to stay in the program or not, might be time for me to learn about the tax implications of private childcare.
Supply will also be high with so few places hiring teenagers right now.
and minimum wages don't apply, as it is independent contractor work! π
I noticed there was a draft in the fantasy league...was that a real thing? Or more a throwing up of hands until there's an actual MLB plan?
I saw it pop up on my phone, joined the lobby, and no one was there.
Figures. I had first pick, too.
um.... oops... I figured I'd push the draft out to now figuring that something would be figured out and then forgot about it. I think I can probably cancel the results. I've also not entered any keepers, so there's that.
Ok, that's kind of where I figured we were at with the whole thing.
There was debate way back when on keepers; I was exited about actually having keepers worth keeping this time.
Some tough news yesterday from campus yesterday. A former close colleague (we have both moved on to other departments) underwent emergency surgery for grade IV glioblastoma late last month. Sheβs a wonderful colleague β highly competent, patient, thoughtful, sarcastic, and genuine. She has two little boys: one 4 years old, one 8 months old. All of their futures are suddenly very different, and I feel terrible about it.
She is in our prayers.
On The Grill
Octopus with Greek seasonings. Fennel sliced thin basted with olive oil. Paired with dry Greek white wine.
grilled octopus is a treat.
as long as you don't think too hard about the intelligence of the animal. I try not to go down that path, because it leads to madness. I prefer to be blissfully amoral.
Cephalopods are cool. β’

Timothy Olyphant going to be in The Mandalorian...
