Welcome to nibbish week!
The title track to one of my favorite albums of last year. I'm not always big into jazz, but the dub undertones on Source were irresistible.

Drummer stole the show here. Dang.
Yeah, worth the price of admission for the drumming, alone.
I guess he is ok at drumming. Seriously, awesome!
On another note, wife and I stopped by Firetruck Brewing in Tucson last weekend. There was a 2 man act playing. Older guy (50?) on the bass and a younger guy (18-20?) on guitar. The first song, I was like "meh" as the older guy was singing and it was a blah song. I was irritated as I struggle with live acts in breweries when they are just noise. Well, the next song, the younger guy sang a Michael Jackson song and absolutely killed it. We ended up staying for a dozen or so songs. The younger guy sang 3/4s of them and was incredible. Amazing range, and they had a jazzy/bluesy/modern vibe and played songs all over the spectrum. I have to look them up and keep track, as that guy has so much talent. The older dude picked up an acoustic guitar on a few songs and blew my mind. Love when I stumble into unexpected greatness in live music.
Ah yeah, there was some Blues band from the cities that played Eddy's a number of years ago, and for some reason, they hit the spot just perfectly. Everybody was way into it, and my brother-in-law even tried to book them for his wedding (which would've been a TERRIBLE idea, as most of their songs were about heartbreak, rough living, and cocaine.) Like you say, there's nothing quite like stumbling into great music when you least expect it.
I ended up seeing a guy doing Isbell covers at an outdoor BBQ place this past summer. It was the closest I got to a concert last year and was awesome.
That does sound very awesome. I miss live music.
