Minor Details is up. Not much joy there, either.
2021 turning out to be a bad year for Minnesota Baseball. The Gophers, who typically have a pretty decent team, are horrible this year -- currently riding a 13 game losing streak and are 4-26 in conference play.

I don't understand why people like Todd Rundgren. He was a little before my time. Is it his work with other artists?
Baby Boomers gotta Baby Boom.
I know that name obviously, but I don't know if I could identify a single song of his.
Is he the guy with the awful song they play for touchdowns at Lambeau?
Yes
I'm not a big fan, either, but wikipedia indicates he did a lot of behind-the-scenes work for a lot of people.
He was an early innovator (ie: computers). I have his A Cappella album, and "Hello, It's Me" is a classic. "Bang the Drum All Day" less so. Utopia was kinda fun when he was involved.

His album A Wizard-A True Star is a stone cold classic. His two Runt albums and Something /Anything? are also very good. Not to mention his production on a couple of classic albums from the New York Dolls and Badfinger.
And you definitely should know a few of his songs. We Gotta Get You a Woman and Hello it’s Me, at the very least.
I know a few songs. Nothing really stood out to me.
I could see it as a producer or for his innovation, but the music just wasn't that good.
It's strange. His style of music is one that I normally like, but there's something about his songs that just kind of grates on me.
Well, it’s a good thing for Todd that you guys aren’t voters. 😀
Oh, he'd get in if I were a voter. I'd let anybody in that wanted in. I don't really care. I'm a big HOF kind of guy.
Jim Rice says hello.
33 games into the season. In 25 of the 33, the relievers have allowed at least one run to score (counting inherited runners).
6 times the first reliever out of the pen allowed a run before recording an out.
In 11 games the starter has come out and a run has scored before 2 more outs were recorded.
The average number of outs before a run scores when the bullpen takes over is 4.2
Good lord.
I saw a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak at the house for the first time this morning.
Unfortunately, the squirrels and RWBBs had already cleared out all the sunflower seeds, so they probably won't come back on account of the terrible service.
I know they're not uncommon. But still cool to see who shows up.
I've never seen one, so I consider that a big get. I suppose I'm too far south.
I registered a sighting in Feb. a few years back; one of two that month for our area
We have occasionally gotten them at the feeder in H'istan, also while we were eating outside at the patio, so they aren't nervy.
My dad gets them in north central Iowa. And I've seen them in SE Minnesota.
Yeah, apparently I spoke too soon, because at lunch today...
Ovenbird!
I'm also working to confirm another lifer that I had on my lunch break, which I never expected to be in my backyard: a Sora. It's been an amazing week for birding!
You know it's rare when you have to scroll down the Google page results to figure out what it is. What's a "Naruto?"
I'm calling it confirmed, and put it on my lifer list.
Aquinas and I saw another (the same?) Rose-breasted Grosbeak this evening, along with some really stunning Yellow Warblers.
I find the birds tend to return anyway despite my terrible (weeks) ability to keep the feeders filled.
We have a pair of Eastern Towhees at the feeder (on the ground). Don't remember seeing them here before.
Also, I bought a new bright orange contraption at the bird seed store in Copas, and put some grape jelly in it (the saleslady swears that they prefer Welches grape jelly). After 3 days, we finally had our first Baltimore Oriole at the feeder. The only other jelly-eater is a catbird.
Congratulations, you have advanced to the next step in the Usher, Guest Services - #1001 selection process.
I guess the season isn't quite over yet after all.
Blech.
I can't stand listening to innings 4-6 on the radio but I caught this and for one of the first times Gladden made me laugh

RIP Burnsie.
Not sure I would have believed he was still alive.
In our ootp replay, my friend's team just won the 2010 World Series with a lineup featuring Mauer, Morneau, Hardy, Gomez, and the O-Dog.
See, he had Morneau for the entire season and didn't lose him to a concussion.
