The noise eventually died down about 11:15PM here. That was yesterday...

I watched a couple movies on the 4th.
My Octopus Teacher - Beautiful cinematography but I couldn't stand the narrator. His ego was so big that it reminded me of Grizzly Man.
Summer of Soul - Great documentary on the Harlem Cultural Festival in 1969. Surprisingly good footage and sound. Did a really good job of weaving in current events of the time to give context. I hope they release full sets at some point.
Just wanted to drop a quick public note to Zoomx:
We had an amazing meal at your place on Friday. Aquinas decided to be adventurous and try the elk burger, which he really enjoyed. Aristotle looked at everyone else's plates and knew she'd made a mistake stiking to chicken fingers - which she enjoyed, but she ate everyone else's food too. Neitzsche took one bite of his burger and said "I should have ordered two!" And he's an insanely picky eater. I've never had freshwater fish that I enjoyed more than your walleye sandwich, and Philosofette was digging the Cajun Pike burger. Excellent food.
Throw in great service and a simply gorgeous setting, and my kids were raving about it all weekend. It was kind of amazing how busy you were that early in the evening, but even though it was busy your staff really kept things moving and nothing ever felt crowded or insane from the guest's side - it was still a really nice, relaxing experience.
We realized that the last time we'd eaten at a restaurant was probably pre-pandemic, and it had actually been a pretty awful experience, so this just flipped that all around. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Euros and Copa! updates
Euros:
As expected Italy, England, Spain, and Denmark all get through to the semis. Italy and England have really been the class of the tournament, while Spain and Denmark did just enough this weekend to move on. Likelihood of winning:
1. Italy. They have been so good all tournament and just defeated a really good Belgium team. They still have to be considered the favorite.
2. England. They haven't let a goal in all tournament and finally played a great overall game Sunday. Would be #1, if it wasn't for how good Italy looks.
3. Spain. A good team but difficult to see them getting by both Italy and then probably England at Wembley.
4. Denmark. What a story. It really says a lot about the character of this Denmark team but I think the story ends against England.
Italy-Spain on Tuesday, England-Denmark Wednesday both on ESPN.
Copa
Very similar to Euros in that it looks like the two best teams (Brazil, Argentina) will have a show down for the final. Peru and Chili along for the ride and can be very happy to make it to the finals.
1. Argentina. It's close but I'm going with Argentina as Messi finally gets a trophy with his home country.
2. Brazil. They are loaded of course but not quite the team of destiny as Argentina. These really could be 1a and 1b
3. Chili. Argentina and then Brazil is a big hill to climb
4. Peru. They are a sneaky good team and were the 2019 runners up. I think they are pretty content with how they ended up.
Brazil- Peru tonight and Argentina-Chili Tuesday. All on FSN1.
Spain has looked really good creating loads of big chances, but their forwards (like Morata) have been super wasteful.
Italy also lost their left back to an Achilles, and his overlapping runs and bombing forward have been a huge part of their threat.
I agree Italy has looked better, but I'm going to pick Spain to squeak by
Ooh that's right I forgot about that Achilles injury. Morata used to play for Chelsea and had the same issue with finishing.
Morata! Hero and then goat.
The Wild signed another center (kind of)
Bjugy is back!
The #mnwild has signed forward Nick Bjugstad to a one-year contract. π
Bjugstad at less than 1 million is pretty reasonable. Not terribly exciting, but saves cap space and fills one of the bottom line roster spots with an above-replacement* player.

And they could then use spider tack! It's in the name!
Or maybe we're figuring out why Cleveland can call up any mediocre prospect to suddenly become an ace.
Iβm still out of pocket if anyone can take the game log tonight.
This will help sell some tickets at CHS
