This post is like my bed projector clock. It ideally synchronizes regularly from NIST's time broadcasts except the reception is poor on the east coast. This morning however it was behind by exactly two hours. Not a big deal since my phone is the alarm so instead I got to be confused why it was so bright at 4 a.m.
does this post mean that we get a do-over on Saturday this weekend?
I mean, my saturday was pretty pleasant, but I'd be ok with another saturday today.
The Field of Dreams game had best ratings on 16 years. Start planning next year's game now.
The #MLBatFieldofDreams was the most-watched regular season baseball game in 16 years, with 5,903,000 viewers across FOX and FOX Deportes ⚾️
Chicago and New York ranked as the top two markets, and it was the most-streamed regular season baseball game in FOX Sports history 🌽 pic.twitter.com/EfzfrUUik2
They should find a way to play a game with a tie in to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and one other spot (a Cape Cod league game? I saw a midnight game in Alaska but that wont bring in ratings) and then rotate the game between the three.
Or do one per month?
I’d nominate Cooperstown.
Hinchliffe Stadium could use the love, and MLB ought to be doing more to help preserve the remaining Negro Leagues ballparks. After all, they were major league ballparks.
But, I suspect they’ll go for the easy win and pick McCormick Field for the combined Negro League & Bull Durham tie-ins.
I heard from multiple people who either don't or very rarely follow baseball about how cool the game, the ending, and especially the intro was. It's safe to say that it was an enormous success.
I'm sure they will do it again, and probably make it into a series of some sort, but I kind of wish they wouldn't. It seems like one of those things that, the more you do it, the less special it's going to feel. And then they'll start doing more gimmicks to try to hype it up and keep it going, and it just goes downhill from there. Sometimes it's better to just leave a special thing alone.
I hope MLB notices the streaming numbers and concludes that Bally is screwing them out of revenue by shutting out the streamers.
As you may know, I have a fondness for players who appeared briefly in the majors. Here's an interview with Fritz Fisher, whose major league career consisted of a third of an inning for the Tigers against the Twins in 1964.
Dishwasher failure!!!! ZOMG!!!!! The last pos dishwasher ruined my hardwood floors and resulted in me using all the four letter words in the dictionary. This appears to be a faulty latch that is allowing water to just shoot out the top of the door........ The latch on this model is comically small considering the interior is filled with boiling water..........
Am I going to replace this model? Time will tell. Film at 11.
That sucks. Make sure your door seals are intact and your drain on the bottom is clean. I got a little piece of plastic chop stick that broke off stuck inside the pump once, you could hear the fins hitting it when the pump ran. Eventually it wore down enough to pass through the pump and out the drain hose, kind of like a kidney stone.
Unrelated, but of some comfort, Kirkland brand "Small Batch" (hilarious given the context of where I purchased it) Barton bourbon is an excellent find at 19.99.
Agreed. I got a couple of those a few weeks ago and was quite pleased, especially at that price.
I just cracked open the "bottled in bond" version I got at my local store last week, and I think it's even better. So if you see that one, I'd recommend giving it a shot, too.

Already planning on the Cubs.
