Been a long while since I had one of those.* With all the brewmaster turnover, I figured maybe there were some internal issues. I hadn’t even realized they’d changed their branding.
* I’m down to probably one beer a month. Between health goals and finding my preferred styles out of vogue, I just haven’t had thirst for many beers.
I recently had their Dark Dopplebock, which I bought to use for pickled eggs. The eggs turned out so-so (they were a bit too sweet. Really, really good with Valentina or Sambal Oelek though) but the beer was very good.
I started my annual festbier sampling tour with Schell's and Summit last weekend. I'll see what brands the beer cooler has to offer again on Friday. I'm hoping the Leinenkugel Oktoberfest is in stock now, that's always a pretty good one.
If you find yourself in WI, make sure to grab some New Glarus Staghorn.
I will arrange to find myself in Wisconsin soon. Thanks for the tip.
Co-sign. Staghorn’s a seasonal favorite.
Curse you people!
Ended up picking up some Summit and Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest due to this discussion.
Seeing Bob Mould at First Ave on Saturday. I've seen him twice but never for a "real" show. I saw him at the Benefit for Karl and outside during super bowl week.
That’s an interesting category — performers one has seen perform, but not for a “real” show.
Katy Perry is also on that list. (Halftime show)
Yeah, that's a good one. Let's schedule it for Friday's music day!
Saw the Hüskers about a dozen times, Mould solo once, and Sugar once.
I'm actually a bigger fan of Sugar than Husker Du. That might say more about my age than anything. Sugar was junior year of college.
The Ken Burns PBS deal on Mohammed Ali is really good. I think last episode is tonight but easy to catch up via the PBS website.
Just in: The Minnesota Timberwolves are parting ways with president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas, sources tell me and @JonKrawczynski.
I was coming here to post Woj's tweet. Big WTF? vibes.
Hired in May 2019. Relatively short tenure.
ugggh. There is prob more but ugggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
If it were any other team, I'd say he must've done something very bad....but this is the Timberwolves.
Is that David Kahn's music!?!?!
Kahhhhnnn!
Uh, welcome back Canis Hoopus, I guess.
The Wolves'ing may very well continue for an indefinite amount of time.
In wake of Gersson Rosas' departure, word has circulated among league sources since Summer League that incoming Minnesota Timberwolves owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez have communicated they are fond of Sixers general manager Elton Brand. A name to keep an eye on here.
BREAKING: Gerson Rosas is out as Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations for creating a toxic culture and an "inappropriate relationship." It's a good word.

Exhale. They promoted Gupta.
(interim, though)
👀
Send in the clowns.
Its really hard trying to explain to my friends, many of whom are Cubs fans, just what its truly like to be a MN sports fan.
Ever since we got Target Field, we're basically a family-friendly version of the Cubs.
this MLS/Liga venture sounds interesting
The firing sounds deserved
Cross Ted Lasso with Doom Patrol and run it on Fox
