Just listened to the first episode of Cocaine & Rhinestones. I think I'll be listening to a few more.

I don't see the rating stars, but I give this an 8. Leon Rhodes was one hell of a guitar player, when he jammed with Roy Clark on Hee Haw it was always worth watching.
I once heard a cover of this song that took it in a not-nearly-so-classic-country direction. I could swear it was by, Ryan Adams. But I have never been able to find it again, nor really any covers that aren't similarly countryish. I haven't looked for a while, but it's one of those that just sits out there on my list of songs to look for, and now I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist and I heard some totaly different song and conflated them or something.
Any of these? https://secondhandsongs.com/work/125901/versions
I'm gonna spend my time checking that out a bit... thanks!
Enjoy the ride, Jobu. Great podcast.
On your recommendation. Just a few episodes in, but I saw what you meant by "HEAVY" topics after the 3rd episode. Oof.
The rest of the first season isn't as heavy. The second season though. ...
There was a comment I saw about how Spade Cooley is something we are don't process because it just doesn't seem real to us.
Let me tell you, the most frightening part of the George Jones story is it could happen to you/someone you know.
