Well, gang, the good times rolled, and now the Easter season begins. Anyone have any plans for the next 40 days?

I think some folks consider the Easter season good times as well.
For some of us, the next forty days don’t start for another week.
I was raised Catholic and my kids attend Catholic school (but aren’t necessarily ‘Catholic’). They’ll be at an Ash Wednesday service this morning with Kernel singing. I needed to be reminded what all Lent entails in inviting my lovely mother to attend the service (I have work, so she’s the surrogate supporter).
Any other citizens want to pool some money together and make a bid to buy Chelsea FC
what's a Chelsea FC?
Don't go giving no Abramovich tree-fiddy
Let their owner go bankrupt, then I'll bid from the creditors.
I'm definitely in the boat where the Easter Season begins at Easter, and we're now into the Lenten Season.
I've been looking forward to Lent this year. Life has felt overwhelming lately, and sometimes trimming back and sitting with my own faults, fragility, and moratality is precisely what I need to course correct. Emotionally, I'm absolutely spent right now, and feeling like a failure. There are few objective signs of failing (so no worries there) but I know I can be better than I am. 40 days of sacrifice and retreat are going to be helpful.
This year we're back on "no added sugar" as that requires real dedication and attention to what we consume. I'm also getting caught up on the Bible in a Year Podcast (which will basically require 2 a day, until Easter), and I'm finally reading On The Road With Saint Augustine, which will serve as a daily reflection piece.
I've had some very powerful Lents in the past - generally when I'm feeling at my lowest. Hopefully the auspicious (?) start of my feeling low this year leads to some real growth.
I'm pretty sure my wife said we're giving up all soda with sugar, but I don't know if that's related to Lent.

So, you're giving up soda?
