A nice hybrid WFH perk is to decide, “eh, I don’t feel like going to the office today,” and then not going.

Funny how people are excited by the opportunity to work from home, and here I am "excited" by the opportunity to go in to HQ the next three days.*
*tempered by the fact that they're expecting snow in Omaha all Thursday :/
You must be bringing it with you, we've had about a total of 4" all winter.
Well, the all day meeting I was going to attend was moved to the 30th, so looks like I'll be back again in three weeks, too
Heh, this CoC is very good timing as management is back on their return to office BS. (Right as gas prices are rising!) The best part is the new policy will allow jobs where telecommuting makes sense to do it two days a week. If it makes sense two days a week, why wouldn't it make sense for five? This is also coming off a year where we did not get a raise, so yeah, I'm going to push back.
My local HR rep just informed me I have 192 hours of use it-or-lose it leave that expire at the end of June. My employer has done several things to permanently damage its relationship with me over the last year; looks like I’ll be scheduling those personal & vacation days for my on-site days, April–June.
They made me full time remote, I do have to show up 1/2 day a week however. The wife's employer is on huge push to bring people back to the office, basically for no other reason than that's the way we've always done it. She is laid up at the moment awaiting knee replacement surgery, so she was able to push it back until after that's resolved. She's going to use her recovery time to look for another job.
Some day we'll be able to grab a meal together. Maybe even with a Twins game to watch, Crom willing.
From our contract, I have to be on campus at least 3 days a week. I originally had three days with classes scheduled, but one class got canceled due to low enrollment, leaving me with I-person classes only on Wednesdays. (I also still have three online classes.) So, I’m now required to drive in to do two hours of office hours twice a week, even though almost none of my students use the in-person office hours, and many would meet me online to get help.
So, I sit in my office for no real reason to meet that 3-days-a-week requirement. Yay.
Took advantage of a deal and Mrs Runner and I got new cellphones -- mine is a Samsung Galaxy S22+ and hers is a S22. They're supposed to be arriving to day, so I haven't played with it yet, but when we were in Costa Rica, I was admiring the great zoomed photos that someone had taken with theirs.
How big is the S22/+?
I am still with my S8, but thinking about upgrading this year.
The Mrs needs to upgrade her iPhone. She has rejected my suggestion of an Android-based phone. Whatevs.
S22+ is the same size as my S8+, but the S22 is smaller
Topps series 1 is out for 2022, and as always, their player selection is cr@p. Twins: #32 Rogers, #123 Sano, #189 Pineda, #197 Kirilloff, #221 Kepler, #226 Donaldson, #280 Gant, #306 Simmons
Why on God's green earth do they include Gant, Pineda, and Simmons in this set? If there are any questions as to what team they will be on (and there definitely is), hold them out and include them in series 2, for crying out loud. Obviously Topps can't anticipate trades, etc, but they can certainly put a little more effort into their player choices!
Maybe this guy should apply. Wait, what? Never mind.
Featured in a Werner Herzog documentary. Huh.
You haven't seen it? It may be the greatest documentary ever created.
If you are craving baseball and if you have ESPN+ they show a metricton of college baseball most everyday
Family and I have been in Scottsdale since Friday. Our hotel has a Spring Training complex across the street (I believe it's the Rockies). Would have been fun to catch a MLB spring training game or two. Will sneak in a second round of golf today. So nice t deal with warm weather again. This winter has been long. I think I may try to winter down here in a few more years.
