I have no idea what kind of people out there are listening to podcasts at any speed besides 1x. I can maaaaybe see 1½x, but anything besides that seems weird (and who is listening at ½x!?).

Wait, doing that is really a thing? I thought that was just used as a joke. I listen to Well There's Your Problem and they sometimes get to three hours, but I would never consider listening at anything other than 1x.
Some in my family play videos at 2x speed, and I just can't get my head around that. I listen to podcasts at 1.2x speed. Speeds them up just a little bit, but doesn't sound too silly.
I've done this when either focusing on the thing so it's easier to handle the faster speed or when it's completely in the background for entertainment and I want to get through it faster.
I use Overcast as my podcast player; it includes a feature called Smart Speed. Rather than simply increase the playback speed, it shortens silences. The result is much more natural. I don’t have it enabled on a select few podcasts where pacing is part of the appeal (like Roderick on the Line,) but I have it on by default for most feeds. My stats indicate I’ve saved 274 hours using Smart Speed.
Most all podcasts I listen to are comedy, so speeding them up kills the timing.
When I grade student video assignments, though, I go 2x.
I think I listen at 1.2x. It makes stoners like Rogan sound normal.
Thats fantanstic
There's a part of me that is just thinking this is going to be the summer for baseball in MN, at least for our family. It might be Aquinas' last year playing, but I've figured some things out about how to help him learn and grow as a player. I'll be one of the coaches for Neitzsche's team. Aristotle is playing softball again, and Heidegger is finally old enough to join t-ball (and she is stupid excited about it). 2 Twins going into the HOF. Just signed the biggest free agent in team history, and locked up Buxton. It feels like stars are aligning.
That pretty much never works out when it seems like its going to, so I'm trying to keep expectations tempered - I'll probably end up chasing the same frustrations with Aquinas' experience as past years, coaching will be a hassle, too much driving to tournaments, etc., but... right now, at least, I'm feeling the thrill of possibility.
I'm a lot more excited about baseball this year than I was a few weeks ago. I'm scheduled to work the opening series weekend games next month then won't work again until May because of previous commitments, but I'm really looking forward to being at the ballpark again on a regular basis. I think the mood will be pretty good given the recent FO moves, there's reason to risk optimism again. My nephew is a senior on the local high school nine this year, he's got a pretty good pitching arm and he's fair with the stick, so I'll try to catch as many of his outings as I can. Not sure how they stack up against the conference but they generally field pretty good teams.
Along the same lines as the high school ball - I'm very excited to catch a bunch of our town ball games this year. There are few things better than sitting outside on a beautiful summer night enjoying a local ball game. Absolute tranquility.
I'm determined to actually make a town ball game this year. This'll only be our 6th summer here
Did not know there's a whole townball league of just Minneapolis teams, going to have to check that out (go Lyon's Pub Warriors!). Also the Eastern Minny - South League with Ramsey, Princeton, St. Francis, etc.
So it looks like 3 teams (Pirates, Guardians, Orioles) will have a payroll at about what Carlos Correa makes this year or even under (Orioles). I realize that American sports aren't set up to accommodate relegation but I wish there was a way to incentivize teams to put a competitive team on the field. I get that a salary floor can be manipulated by having one high priced signing, but there needs to be something to prevent a team like the Orioles having a payroll of $30 million in 2022.
An aside, I am reading a book about the rise of the English Premier League and once some of the teams were purchased by American owners, they got together and tried to get rid of relegation, know that going down is a huge hit on the books. The proposal, obviously, didn't go anywhere and really hasn't been discussed or proposed since then.
I wonder if revenue sharing could be determined on market size and winning, with winning the more important component. Small market and winning will earn the team a larger share.
Anyone find a Nick Mason presale code?
I'm seeing SOCIAL and HALLOWEEN as possibilities, but it seems mildly unlikely they'll work.
I guessed and guessed. I think it's SAUCER.
Try SETTHECONTROLSFORTHEHEARTOFTHESUN.
Sorry I am just seeing this. The Theater Password is SAUCER. Hope it's not too late.
Tickets secured. Around the middle of the main floor on the center aisle.
Ditto!
I found it after 10 guesses!
I like this better than the original. Mostly because I can't stand Axl's voice.
Prague trip in September is off -- flight was cancelled. Even more good news: not all of the cost was refundable, and there are no non-stop flights from US to Prague to be found anymore.
Too bad you couldn't stop payment on your Czech.
Italy out of the World Cup for a second straight cycle after losing at home to *squints* North Macedonia after giving up a goal in the *squints harder* 92nd minute.
like you do…
yeesh.

I watched the whole match. I was surprised N. Macedonia was logged with 34% possession because it felt a lot less.
That's wild. Italy looked so good in the Euro's last year.
YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!
I'm convinced ByungHo Park would have been a HoF'er if he hadn't abandoned the flip.
Not sure why Pefok had to turn into Wondo, but that Gio Reyna run was ridiculous.
