According to my FB memories, 11 years ago today F-Bomb tossed a no-no.
We're leaving tomorrow evening for Chicago -- staying downtown and doing touristy for a couple days for Mrs Runner's 60th.
If you can get in Girl and the Goat is *chef's kiss*
A drink in the signature room off they old John Hancock building is better and cheaper than the Sears tower.
I haven’t been up there in a long time (2006), but thoroughly enjoyed my Signature Room experience.
The view from the top of the 'cock is every bit as good as the Sears tower because it includes a view of the Sears tower.
Exactly
Thanks for the suggestions. I know we're hitting up Chicago Pizza and Grinder Company one of the days. Mrs Runner want to take an architectural cruise, and hit the Chicago Art Institute; I'm wanting to see the Field Museum. It'll depend on the weather.
Devil in the White City is a nice accompaniment to the architecture tour.
Woke up to the 4-0 and ugh still having Tpups hangover. The Hockey/BBall playoffs are a ridiculous grind.
I hold it true, whate’er befall,
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
Players who have had 50% or more of their hits be doubles.
I wonder if he'll be on the team next season. $2.75 million buyout for next season.
With Kirilloff, Larnach, Arráez, and Miranda all needing playing time, there seem to be other ways for the front office to more productively spend the additional $11.25 million above his buy-out.
I'd say close to zero chance he's on the team next year.
Depending on the type of tear and procedure, recovery can be as little as 4-6 weeks or as long as 3-6 months. If this is an uncomplicated surgery, he could be back shortly after the All-Star break. By then Luis may have his job full time, though.
Calling Rhu:
Nietzsche's birthday is coming up next week and he has, more or less out of the blue, declared his interest in baseball cards. I'd like to be able to introduce him to the hobby, without spending an insane amount of money. Odds are good he'd like a Twins player or three among his collection. But number of cards is probably important too, as he starts off. What's my best bet? Just grab a handful of packs and hope we get lucky?
This is just as much a spooky question, actually.
I'd buy a handful of inexpensive packs (Topps Opening Day just came out, Topps Big League is also an inexpensive set although they didn't release them for a long time so several of the Twins there are no longer Twins) and if you have a card shop handy I'd pick up a Twins card or two for the heck of it just in case. You can't beat the thrill of the hunt, and it's a nice gateway to scratchers! (:/) And/or I have several Twins cards here on my desk...
