9/11 is now old enough to drink. Not trying to be crude, just time flies.

Spent part of my birthday visiting the Jewish Quarter of Prague on the last day before returning home. We've really enjoyed our time here, McGoo.
You really can walk pretty much anywhere here (helps if you're in shape and have comfortable shoes). More than once we stopped at a site for a while, only to walk a couple blocks and realize that we knew where we were from an earlier excursion here. And the transportation is omnipresent and inexpensive.
I'm glad you've enjoyed it. It really is a wonderful city. I get wistful for it from time to time.
What neck of the woods were you staying in?
If the corner of the building across the alley wasn't there, we could see Franz Kafka's rotating head ½ block from our hotel window. Great location
Ah, yeah, that's a pretty good area for a vacation accomodatoin
Guardians and Twins respective injured lists are the AL Central race in a nutshell. pic.twitter.com/ZfqW3ao8hG
(also, do not, I repeat, do not go near the comments. Sports twitter is dumb.)
I don't think you need the word "sports"...
Fair point. I'm hopelessly addicted though.
Watching the House of Dragons - man, where did they find all these platinum blonde actors? Are they unionized?
Bad Wigs Incorporated
Can o' Corn - It was great to see you yesterday! My folks made a point of mentioning that they enjoyed their conversation with you. Thanks again!
Glad to hear it - it is reciprocated! Seemed like a good turnout too. Hope that’s the case.
Luis averts the no-hitter
Fire everyone associated with offense. I'm sick of the absolutely incompetent situational hitting.
Basically this was my conversation with Trueblood yesterday. His theory is the Twins are too confident in their ability to convert other team's mistakes, which means they don't change their approach at all. Lack of flexibility in approach, which tends to match the pitcher usage issues...
I’ve considered that the weakness of their approach to pitching (“In Wes WeTrust”). Interesting to see it applied to the hitting side. My feeling going back to before Cruz joined the team has been that they have had too many guys with high volumes of unproductive at-bats (strikeouts, balls hit into the shift, bad batted-ball profiles in general) creating drags on the offense.
You can tolerate the unproductive outs when it comes from the overall productivity of Cruz, Donaldson, Rosario (say what you will about Eddie, but he was absolutely going to put the ball in play when he could sniff a RBI), but surely the Garlicks and Celestinos of the world should be instructed to cut down on their swings at the proper times
Absolutely. I also had Kepler and Sánchez in mind.
The start of this season Max actually hit to the opposite field several times - boy, that lesson didn't last long. Don't let the door hit you
I wish I sucked so bad at my job that someone would pay me $15 million to go away.
Maybe he'll run for Lieutenant Governor next!
Who?
Scott Frost
The best gig in the world is being a fired Power 5 college football coach.
Also, he sucked so bad, someone was willing to pay $7.5 million extra to do it now instead of waiting 3 more weeks! That is truly extraordinary.
Got myself an indoor antenna (1byone). So now I am watching the Vikings on over-the-air TV. Fortunately/unfortunately?
I love that our game logs just stopped at the beginning of this series. Perfect prediction.
I started suspecting a few weeks ago that the Twins would fade and fall out of the race just because of all the injuries. I tried to be optimistic, but I've been following Minnesota sports for 45 years now. I know how the story almost always goes.
I got a plum post today, right by the flagpoles in right field on Armed Services Appreciation day. The F-16 flyover went right over my head, not much more than 500 feet up, I'd guess. Got to talk to a lot of service members and vets, had a lot of families in my section and I helped with run-the-bases. The game outcomes stunk and the team is plainly snakebit, but I consider any day at the ballpark a good one, and I've only got a few left this season.
The Mets broadcast had a little fun with everyone's favorite umpire
I was born January of 1963. Meaning next month my birthdate will be closer to Pearl Harbor than we are to 9-11.
My birthday will always be closer to 9/11...
Looks like it has been a while since we had a First Monday book post. Some Citizens might find this title puts the fun in fungi:
