I did what I always try to avoid: start an established/completed TV show with a large collection of episodes. That should take up my viewing time for the next few months.

Boosting and light repairs of Hubble? Yes, please.
Not a bad excuse to do some expanded distance exercises.
Streaming has conditioned me to prefer a substantial catalog of episodes when beginning a new series. It’s not so much that I’m impatient for Moar Content as much as I find it annoying to be immersed in a show’s universe, finish the season, and slowly lose familiarity with it again until the next season is released.
I generally wind up patching holes between seasons of in-production shows with entire runs of other shows; for the last several years, I’ve filled most of those gaps with shows filmed in languages other than English. Yeah, it’s fun to get excited about an imminent new season of a favorite show, but I’m kind of glad the days of me needing to plan around shows airing on particular days of the week are over. The exception to this is Trapped; I can only watch so many episodes in Icelandic before needing a break, apparently, but I was still looking forward to the most-recent new season.
I still enjoy mixing in a week-to-week viewing experience, particularly since it's an excuse to have a TV night at Runner daughter's house. Although she ropes me into nuisance home chores as well.
I just feel awful for the Ft. Myers area. We've been there enough times to recognize the locations where many of the photos and videos that are being shown of the destruction there. Our last time (during the pandemic) were were on Estero Island (Ft. Myers Beach) for a month; they were in the middle of an extended project to expand the main thoroughfare on the island and add good drainage and sidewalks. The main bridge from the north end is closed until they determine if it's safe. Meanwhile Sanibel and Captiva Islands are completely inaccessible by land due to a portion of the causeway bridge destroyed. Homes are mostly destroyed, and while the condos might still be standing and have parking on the base level, even those have been damaged and need reassessing/repairs.
I imagine inland isn't much rosier looking. DSP said in the booth that they were using the stadium complex for responders to coordinate at, and he's expecting there's wind damage there. I'm guessing the Rays' complex up at Port Charlotte is in the same boat; not sure which other ballparks were in the path.
Maybe the BoSox but can't remember where they moved. Also Orioles and Pirates aren't that far north.
oh dang, yeah, the BoSox are pretty forgettable, aren't they?
Looks like "Fenway South" is right by the airport. The Pirates are in Bradenton and the Orioles at Sarasota. They are far enough north that they may have escaped the storm surge damage and "only" have the rain and wind.
Really enjoyed a couple of games the Bradenton park.
Yeah I suspect the damage is less too farther north, but wasn't water draining from Tampa Bay too before landfall?
That water likely ended up in Fort Myers instead. The storm surge is worse to the right of its center, which would be south of the center in this case.
Twins facility just west of the airport, just six miles away from Red Sox. Although Twins is closer to the River.
Happy new Yeah Yeah Yeah's and new extended (102 songs) Yankee Hotel Foxtrot release day to all who celebrate!
Not sure about that YHF release, but I've had some of the alternate takes of those songs for a long time, and they're pretty great.
Right. Plus some of the release is a live album. I'll probably pick and choose among the highlights for keepers.
Yeah, I saw an 11 LP version and I'm like whaaaaaaa?
I love that record, but I'm not what I'd call a big Wilco fan, so I probably should abstain.
What is this Wilco people are talking about?
I admit that I am hypocritical watching NFL games. But I am not Richard Sherman-level hypocritical.
I guess everyone has his price.
