all our snow yesterday never accumulated on the roadways, so hopefully zooomie's trip through went okay...
Ours all melted from the overnight rain. Warming winters have pushed a lot of snow events into cold rain instead.
The roads around us are worse than I ever remember them being. The amount of freezing rain/moisture, coupled with high winds, means that every time they manage to get the roads mostly clear they just end up icing over again in a day or two.
Yesterday the blowing was bad enough that they dismissed school almost 2 hours early, to make sure students could get home. Minimal new snow coming down, but the drifts and icing all built right back up, making travel dangerous. Quite the winter.
We have bulbs starting to bloom. I got buzzed by a mosquito while weeding the mother-f$@++$#* oxalis.
I was in your neck of the woods yesterday, and holy crap that was some terrifying driving west of Glencoe with the blowing drifts.
Yup, that's about where it starts getting bad, and it just keeps getting worse the further west you go. They have literally been bulldozing snow near us, trying to build up windbreaks 30 yards out in the field.
I hit real bad fog around Glencoe coming home from a work trip down to Iowa a few weeks ago.
So, that pending radiology report on the dog came back and I'm pretty pissed off at the universe right now. No broken bones, but she apparently has cancer. Fucking lung cancer. I can't even....
So sorry to hear that Twayn. That is the worst.
π
I feel for you. Pets are great and seeing them suffer is not fun at all.
That really stinks. Best to your family.
Sounds like he's Barking Bad.
In all seriousness, I'm very sorry to hear that.
Unfortunately I think I will be making a similar announcement about my dog in near future.
There is an organization called MN Pet that does in home euthanasia if interested. I had a friend who used them and it was very loving and comforting. I will use them for my dog at my parents home since my dad can't really travel these days. The cost is similar to what your vet would charge.

We started doing this when I was in high school (and I plan to continue). Nothing makes it better; this helped us.
Oh, brother, thatβs the shits.
Having just gone through something similar, I am very sorry to hear that. Pets just aren't around as long as they deserve to be.
So sorry, Twayn.
Ugh, so sorry to hear that. When our Jack Russell was diagnosed, we learned that she had been masking it for a long time.
Twins going with the retro look tri colored batting helmet. I like the look!
oh hell yes.
So, Meta with some news today.
Anybody here have experience with a Tablo OTA "DVR"? I am thinking about getting one so that I can watch over the air channels from TVs other than the one in our upstairs bedroom, which currently is the only one connected to an antenna.
Looks like the choices are either the Dual Lite (two tuners, $128) or the Quad (four tuners, $200). In either case, you have to add an external hard drive to actually record (connect via USB). But it apparently works with Roku, Android TV, Amazon Fire and AppleTV. I have Roku everywhere in the house....
I've got a Tablo and external HD here we're currently not using if you're interested...
(a) why not?
(b) is it the HDMI or the wifi version?
1) YouTube TV has our local channels (the ones I'd want to watch)
2) Tablo DUAL 2-tuner wifi OTA Lite
