      1. Its weird to say that Cuzzi, of all umps, handled it the way that other guy should have. But then its less weird if Scherzer washed it off with alcohol as instructed and witnessed by an official, so Cuzzi still effed it up because he is terrible.

          1. That seems to be the case. I do wonder about doing it in front of an "official" in the clubhouse. Is it an official that's part of the umpiring crew or the team? I don't want to give Phil Cuzzi any benefit of the doubt here, but I also find that part of his statement kind of weird.

            1. Scherzer referred to them as a “league official,” so I think it’s one of the compliance monitors MLB has assigned to clubhouses in the wake of the Astros’ Banging Scheme.

            2. I read that only three pitchers have been tossed for a sticky stuff violation since 2021, and Phil Cuzzi was the umpire for all three

  1. I was thinking about the Trifecta thing, and it occurred to me that I am totally okay with the Wolves losing. I have no expectations for the Wild, but I have actual expectations of the Wolves losing, so... I'd happily trade them picking up 1 game for even a regular season Twins win.

    1. In the grand sports scheme of things, Twins success makes me happier than Wolves success because I've long ago admitted that the Wolves will never have it. So I agree.

    2. I don't want them to lose, but I don't know how much the Wolves should be rewarded. I like Finch, but I've been wondering these past few weeks if it might not be time for a change. Whatever's going on in this team's heads seems fundamentally broken. Granted, there's a head case or two on the team, but he just hasn't seemed like he can wrangle all these guys together, which might be the #1 function of a coach.

      1. I don't think I agree there. The team was without their best player for most of the season and also had D'lo on the roster and spent the first half of the year figuring out the new team, yet still finished above .500. Now they're playing the #1 seed in the west with a recently returned KAT, a hobbled Ant and missing two key players, so it shouldn't be shocking that they're down 2-0. I'd say getting the worse team last year to the playoffs (and, quite frankly, they would have soundly defeated the Grizzlies if not for Scott Foster terrible officiating) shows he's a good coach, at least good enough to get a chance with this squad at full health.

  2. Found this in a MinnPost article this morning. If you were a Facebook user in the United States between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, inclusive, you may be eligible for a cash payment from a Class Action Settlement. (I assumed its going to come to a total of like 13 cents)

    1. I've been a part of class actions before where I ended up with a couple bucks, but also one where I got a couple hundred bucks (maybe even $500? Barbri... any of the other lawyers here in on that one?), so I'm willing to take a chance.

      1. I think that settlement gave people a discount to a future bar review course rather than money
