Compared to the Dodgers games last year, I'll take it. Last year it felt like a minor league Twins team was playing against a professional squad in the Dodgers. Last night we at least seemed to be at the same level. Forward movement.
On the broadcast last night, Dick mentioned the last time the Twins beat the Dodgers in LA was in 2005, when Morneau drove in four of the five runs.
1.4 run advantage in a one run extra inning game. Oof.
May we all enjoy Phil Cuzzi’s job security.
Eight years ago today was Honest Abe's first game at Target Field, and he lasted until the fourth inning before exploding out of his diaper all over Sheenie.
Elite exit velocity already in his MLB debut!
Phil Cuzzi must’ve been trying to celebrate early last night.
All the reaction I can muster is a chortle and a shrug

Apparently, he only gets three chances when he's pitching against the Twins.
Perfect through three; what a coincidence!
I didn't realize that the rules applied to Yankees too.
Umpires make mistakes, dude
One other difference I noticed between tonight & the game in New York: the ump wasn’t surrounded by Germán’s teammates when he got checked & tossed.
it was 13 years ago today Jason Kubel won a game for the Twins against Mariano Rivera boxscore
Nick Blackburn with the win. I remember Aaron Gleeman had a bet going with some Blackburn truther that he would finish with under 75 wins. The fan insisted it would be way more. Gleeman won that one pretty handily.
I remember attending a spring training game the day after he was given an extension, and seeing him interviewed down the foul territory pre-game. Our contracts have improved a lot since then; wish our pitchers' health had, too

Was that the series where Hee-Seop Choi went HAM?
I believe that was the very next game.
Morneau's game on June 11, 2005. The next game had Choi go 3-4 with 3 RBI from a home run.
And the previous he was 2-4 with 2 HR for 3 RBI total
And the second home run walked off the Twins.
