Tonight the Twins continue their L.A. trip, starting a series against the Angels. They'll get to face Ohtani on Sunday, so hopefully they can pick up a few at the start of the series. They looked good against the Dodgers, even though the results didn't work out the right way.
Tonight Joe Ryan, who is good, pitches against Reid Detmers, who hasn't been as good. So that's promising.
I'm hoping they can pick up Sunday, too, for that matter
free game again tonight.
I was not prepared for an 8:30 start time
*preparing to enter the wiggle zone*
needed more preparation
So, uh..."Jeremy" Detmers?
Reid Detmers pitching like Frank Tanana
Well, Garlick's swingin' at pitches at his feet
wow, defensive brain fart there. proper relay would have nailed him by 25 feet
Aw geez louise
Blue's zone is pretty wide for Detmers.
A hit!
Farmer in the dell. On the board.
Attaboy, Alex.
AK PH OK!
all of a sudden Reid Detmers has 3 runs charged to his stats
Plouffey just said the same thing
That was inches from disaster.
Good to see Urshela getting a base knock.
CASTRO!
Viva la Revolucion!
Six inches from Bomba.
I wish they'd ditch the pitch clock on the graphics --is anyone staring at it raptly waiting for a violation to be called?
I like seeing it count down. YMMV.
bugger
Jax not fooling anyone.
Ohtani on deck.
Contact play strikes again!
TWINS BASEBALL!!!
Someone needs to repair our Jax
Well, crap.
Bad throw by Gallo, too.
Relief pitchers are a fickle lot. One year they are lights out, the next they are bums
I mean, it was a 2-run inning and ball 4 to Ohtani easily could have gone the other way. He’s not the best guy in the bullpen, but if you get in enough 1-run games, you’re gonna lose some of ‘em.
Also, if MAT hits the ball one foot higher, it would have been a two-run lead instead of a one-run lead and who knows.
All I’m saying is that it was a close game, and I think they’ll be ok.
Come on, Blue.
Larnach was robbed. Just robbed.
Unfortunately. But Joey was not.
Especially considering the Ball 4 to Ohtani in the Jax inning.
Does anyone know if WPA has been adjusted for the 3-hitter minimum rule? Teams started going match-up crazy because it worked, so I have to imagine that late-game scoring is up and that WPA is overstated for teams with a lead if you include data from far enough back without making any adjustments.
