It's weird to have the 4th on a Tuesday. It'd be weirder to have it on a Wednesday, but I guess we'll be spared that next year.
Happy 4th, gang! May all your digits survive it.

Either the Omaha
Royals’Storm Chasers’ DJ has a very sharp sense of irony or they deserve an F-triple-minus for playing both “Born in the USA” and “Rockin’ in the Free World” during the post-game Independence Day fireworks display.Since most people seem to be oblivious to the actual content of those songs, I am going with the letter grade.
My favorite was playing Good Riddance during graduation ceremonies
A true classic.
I did like Target PA playing "Tell Me Something Good" during Rocco's challenge
93X always played American Woman on the 4th.
Padres DFA Nelson Cruz. The Twins timed the trade at the perfect moment. He had a 142 wRC+ with the Twins that half season and hasn't topped the 95 wRC+ he had with the Rays to finish that season.
I saw Cruz leg out two infield hits in San Diego on the 25th. One was a gift from the scorekeeper, but one was a legit infield single. He was smiling and laughing, enjoying the moment.
I hope he catches on somewhere to play out the rest of the season. And I hope he might have some interest in coming back to Minnesota to coach.
I was just coming here to post that news. I give the FO big props for that trade. I did like watching him mash batting practice balls into the left field bleachers that year, though.
