For those attending tomorrow night's game, I'm going to see about snagging a spot ~5PM at Ballpark Village at either Cardinals Nation or Brew House pre-game where we can meet for a while. If you want to stay in contact, my email is here.
(btw, my seat is in the front row of section 167)
I'll be in 160 row 18.
I have my Dave Parker tshirt in today and got an appreciative smile and nod from another daycare dad
You know the one. First the little squint to read it from a distance, then the recognition, then the "niiiiiice" smile and nod.
NGL, it felt GREAT
I wore my Expos hat to a concert. My wife pointed out how many 50 year old guys were talking to me
My Expos hat gets more comments than anything I wear, other than a concert tour shirt for Powerline, the pop star in A Goofy Movie.
My Ducktails shirt gets a surprising amount of comments, as does my Luke's Diner shirt
aww man.
RIP paul reubens.
Whaaaa?! Dang
The Tampa Bay Rays are acquiring right-hander Aaron Civale from the Cleveland Guardians, sources tell ESPN. They will receive first baseman Kyle Manzardo in return.
Was going to post similar. Looks like the Guards are packing it in too.
All the more reason for the Twins to sell?
Stick to philosophy!
A universal causality implying greater imperitive for the Twins to improve their future virtue?
Nice.
I really don't understand that one. Civale is only 28 and can't be a free agent until 2026. Maybe Manzardo will be a star, but it seems to me that Civale is someone you want to build around, not trade away.
He's due for raises in arbitration and Cleveland has options in AAA.
I would suggest that if you're going to trade your good players because they're due for raises in arbitration, you're not going to have very many good players.
The cartoon was lame boilerplate, but I loved the theme song
On July 31, 1972, At Metropolitan Stadium, Dick Allen of the Chicago White Sox becomes only the seventh player in major league history to hit two inside-the-park home runs in a game and the first since 1939. Allen’s two circuit clouts, which come against Bert Blyleven of the Minnesota Twins, in the first and fifth innings to help lift the White Sox to an 8-1 victory.
