Minor Details: Games of September 6

SAINTS 13, BATS 8 IN LOUISVILLE

St. Paul led 5-0 after one and 6-2 after seven.  Louisville scored six in the eighth, but St. Paul came back with seven in the ninth.

Austin Martin was 2-for-3 with a home run (his sixth) and two runs.
Gilberto Celestino was 2-for-4.
Trevor Larnach was 2-for-5 with two home runs (his thirteenth and fourteenth) and six RBIs.
Michael Helman was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fifth), two runs, and two RBIs.
Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Yunior Severino hit a two-run homer, his seventh.

David Festa struck out six in 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and six walks.
Michael Boyle pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks and striking out one.

St. Paul pitchers gave up eight hits but walked eleven.

HOOKS 10, WIND SURGE 4 IN CORPUS CHRISTI

Corpus Christi led 5-0 after four.  Wichita scored four in the fifth, but Corpus Christi got one in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Ben Ross was 2-for-4.
Seth Gray hit a grand slam, his eighth homer.

Sean Mooney struck out two and walked one in a scoreless inning.
Isaac Mattson struck out five in two perfect innings.

KERNELS 4, TIMBER RATTLERS 1 IN WISCONSIN

Emmanuel Rodriguez hit a two-run single in the second to give Cedar Rapids a 3-1 lead.

Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with two RBis.
Jose Salas hit a home run, his fourth.

Cory Lewis pitched five shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks and striking out three.
Ricardo Velez pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Jarret Whorff struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

MIGHTY MUSSELS 6, MARAUDERS 5 IN FORT MYERS

A run-scoring force out broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth.

Walker Jenkins was 2-for-4.  He is batting .447/.488/.684 in nine games (38 at-bats).
Jay Harry was 2-for-4.  He is batting .352/.437/.477 in 24 games (88 at-bats).
Nate Baez hit a three-run homer, his second.

Chris Paddack pitched 2.2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks and striking out four.
Samuel Perez pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

  1. Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

    Rumor is he will be called up for the Mets series. I wonder which of player will be sent down to open up a spot (please be Gallo).

    1. That's mostly in rookie ball but he's done even better over his short time in low A.
