Saturday, Estrellas defeated Licey 4-0. Micker Adolfo was 2-for-3 with a double. Jansel Luis was 2-for-3. Alfredo Reyes was 2-for-4. Starter Domingo Acevedo pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out two. The win went to Yennsy Diaz (1-0), who gave up one hit in two shutout innings. Roman Mendez (1) retired the only man he faced to get a save.
Also Saturday, Caribes lost to La Guaira 12-5, with La Guaira scoring nine runs in the seventh. Willians Astudillo was 1-for-2. Ricardo Genoves hit a home run, his seventh. Starter Angel Cuenca pitched 2.1 innings, giving up one run on no hits but five walks while striking out one. Yeizo Campos (1-2) took the loss, pitching two-thirds of an inning and allowing one run on one hit and one walk and striking out one.
I’m not sure how much blood I lost during surgery, but I know they pumped a ton if fluids into me afterwards and now I’m dealing with iron deficient anemia. So ever since I’ve been home I’ve been weak and tired and a little foggy in the head. Fortified cereals and the wife’s brisket are gettin me right again, though. Happy Boxing Day and Kwanzaa, to those who celebrate. Also, may the Vikings’ playoff hopes and Mullen’s dead duck rest in peace.

The wife’s family has a French Canadian branch so this year she made a tourtiere for Christmas Eve. Ground pork, minced potatoes, and some warm spices (allspice & cloves, etc.) in a flaky crust. Quite tasty, next year I want to try it with a little gravy on top.
A few years ago we discovered Philosofette was iron deficient anemic because of issues that have since been resolved. It had been a slow onset thing though, so she just always thought she was tired from teaching and being a mom and things like that. She ultimately got tested and was driving back home when the results came in. The doctors directed her to immediately come back in and get an iron infusion.
Having seen that up close when it was slow onset, I can't imagine how wiped out one must feel when it is sudden onset like yours. Best to you as your recovery progresses!
My wife has had a similar diagnosis, so I completely agree.
