A kid out there supposedly beat/broke Tetris the other day (something not achieved by a human before). I've played similar games for a period of time, and you can't stop sensing that motion in front of your eyes for awhile. I wonder how long it was before the world stopped moving, or since he's a competitive player, does it ever?

Estrellas defeated the Gigantes 5-4 in ten innings yesterday. Raimel Tapia singled home the deciding run. Miguel Sano was 0-for-4. Lewin Diaz was 1-for-4 with a double. Robinson Cano was 2-for-4. Vidal Brujan was 2-for-4. Dairon Blanco was 2-for-5. Paolo Espino pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on six hits and a walk and striking out five. Ex-Twin Fernando Abad pitched a scoreless inning. Neftali Feliz got the win, striking out two in a perfect inning.
Estrellas is in first place in the four-team round robin with a record of 5-1. They lead Licey by one game.
Similar to a long road trip, and going to bed, closing your eyes, and seeing dashed lines flashing by. Not a fan -- ☆☆OOO
Or being on roller coasters or on choppy waves and feel like you're moving while laying in bed.
I can't play pattern games anymore, especially at night.
Or dreaming about the shapes.
oh god yes this.
Sorry, Rhu_Ru, but I used He Who Must Not Be Named on Immaculate Grid today.
0.7% even
Heh.
Something about that game. My brain just goes dark. I can't remember squat.
My mind is a house-full of storage, and all I can readily remember is in the kitchen junk drawer.
I'm the same.
Literally couldn't think of a single catcher for the Rockies.
My only hope is if it is a category I can answer remembering a 1980s baseball card.
Dad, my brother, and I have a dedicated IG group chat.
First thing I sent today was something like "Great...Toronto AND Colorado..."
My brother went 0fer on the Rockies today
The only one I got was the most popular Cubs-Rockies player.
I just sent my boss a meeting invitation to get some clarity on a very large project that kicked off this week and I titled it Wot's...Uh, the Deal? Not sure she'll get the joke but I couldn't help myself.
That's a deep pull for sure. Strangely, that was the one that ended up getting me into those guys.
It turns out my boss is curious and knows how to Google.
Flash the readies.
And my argument today at the Minnesota Court of Appeals was disrupted by a bomb threat when I had 4 minutes left. I can't wait to see what these goofballs have planned for January 6.
Now I'm really glad I didn't come argue it for ya...
I am learning all sorts of things about intestines these days, but this one I had to share here. The small intestine is divided into three parts. The middle part is named the jejunum, meaning empty or meager, because the ancient Greeks noticed that at the time of death, that part of the intestine was always devoid of food. And yes, jejune is derived from the same Latin root, although its modern meaning has evolved somewhat through the centuries.
Truly jejune knowledge!
Oh, I was going to mention that we started watching The Last of Us this week. I had zero prior knowledge of it whatsoever but the wife was keen to watch it so we did. About halfway through the first episode, I said to her this looks like it could be a video game. By the end of the episode she confirmed that it was indeed based on a video game. Last night we watched the third episode, Long Long Time. It was probably the most emotionally dense, well-written, acted and directed hour of television I've seen in a long time.
At first I had shied away from The Last of Us because it was based on a video game and I'm not big on the zombie genre. Then I heard so much raving about Episode 3, I had to check it out and of course loved that episode and the whole series. Reservation Dogs still going to be may favorite show from 2023 but The Last of Us is right up there,
I played the game. The intro "how to play" section was basically playing through the first episode. "Why am I freaking crying at the intro portion of a video game!"
I had my doubts about anyone adapting it. It was great art on its own! I'm glad to have had my doubts assuaged!
