Well, that's not how I wanted the conference championship weekend to go.

Licey scored three in the third and it was all they needed to defeat Estrellas 3-2 and take the best-of-seven series four games to three. Miguel Sano was 0-for-3. Lewin Diaz was 0-for-4. Yangervis Solarte was 1-for-4. Jose Barrero was 2-for-4 with a double. Vidan Brujan was 2-for-4. Henry Sosa started and pitched 2.1 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk, striking out one, to take the loss.
Licey will go on to the Caribbean Series.
Every recap I read Jose Barrero as Jose Berrios and momentarily wonder why the Blue Jays let him pitch in this.
And every recap I read has Sano 0-for-3
My son turns 11 today and said something that hit me for some reason: "In sports they mostly highlight the good players but on the news they do the opposite."
3 weeks into this shingles fiasco. I thought I was out of the woods over the weekend, as Saturday and Sunday the pain seemed to be transitioning into an annoying itch. Rash has dried up and the skin just felt tender and itchy. Well, at 2 am I woke up with a whole new level of throbbing pain running from my left shoulder blade to my chest. Seems to peak under my arm. I am going in to urgent care after lunch to have them take a look at me. I am starting to worry that I may be in this for the long haul.
I can't wait to curl in squishy Minnesota next month.
Where?
St Paul. We're doing the craft beer spiel.
Any other details? I’d be down to stop by to cheer and drink beer.
its the 23rd through the 25th. we don't know what time we play on Friday yet, but I'll be sure to mention it when we find out.
Frogtown?
I enjoyed curling there
No, the St. Paul club. Some friends were just there this past weekend doing the mixed and it looks like a pretty nice club.
Jeff Passan says the Twins are trading Jorge Polanco to the Mariners. I haven't seen what they're going to get in return.
Done - 4 players, 3 pitchers and a #79 OF prospect
Echoing the news that RHP Anthony DeSclafani, RHP Justin Topa, OF prospect Gabriel Gonzalez and RHP prospect Darren Bowen are coming to the #MNTwins in the Jorge Polanco trade to Seattle, per source. Cash involved, too. @Feinsand and @kileymcd on the deal and return.
(I find myself underwhelmed by the return, but I feel like it’s not official without that part.)
Gonzales Mariner’s #5 prospect. Bowen #25.
Gonzalez and Bowen have done really well in the low minors. Of course, there are lots of guys who did really well in the low minors and did nothing in the majors, so I guess we'll see.
That solves who starts at second this season. Julien gets a month or so to prove he's a starter with Lee as insurance.
Looks like a salary dump.
Hard to call it a salary dump. I think DeSclafani is making more than Polanco.
Seattle also sent cash.
Mariners FO: So, what else are you going to need to complete this deal?
Twins: *Michael Grady voice* CASH!!!
So I think the reason I loathe Shea Gilgeous-Alexander might be that he keeps making those contested mid-range jumpers, and when I see those, I want it to be Kevin Garnett sinking them.
watched the last five minutes...I know nothing about basketball but golly our defense sure looks amazing
Sounds like you know a little bit.
I don't like him because his face has a weird, uncanny valley appearance to me.
2 times in a week where a Wolves player has gotten hammered on a dunk and no foul called
but a big time win for the local cagers
No Bite Bite tonight either. Not great on the boards against one of the worst rebounding teams, but they really clamped down in those final few minutes.
Awoooooo. The no-call at the end was bad, but the missed dunk in the first half when Chet slapped both his arms was even more ridiculous in my mind.

My one friend down here that likes basketball refuses to believe when I tell him the league has it out for the Wolves and that Embiid is an embarrassment to the game, and I don't understand it. Also, Shai gets a borderline Ja Morant whistle so I skipped watching tonight because I wasn't in the mood for that sort of frustration. Glad to see they got the W!
Multiple times tonight.
I watch every game, and I swear that every time I’m seeing one of the worst officiated games I’ve seen since the Donaghy era, we’re playing the Thunder. Maybe I just hate them…?
What knocks me out is that for the most part he has the art images already photographed and on file and then he recalls them as appropriate. I just assumed he did some google search of the image.
He's started posting more explainers on how he arrived at his choice and it varies. Sometimes he knows what he wants and will use that image. Though, he has so many photographs he can't always remember where so he will have to search for the image to then remember where he took the picture. Other times it's vibes. He knows certain artists, periods of time, or themes have the vibes he wants and will check the paintings done to find the right fit.

Waiting for Keith Law to crap on the prospects.
