They were an adventure this year. Going from sole proprietorship to LLC in the middle of the year will do that to you. The professionals and the corresponding peace of mind are well worth the cost for me.
Not an adventure for me. I knew what was coming. House repairs. Withdrew a big chunk from my Vanguard account, failed to pay quarterly taxes on it. So I had to withdraw a bunch from my 401k to cover. 🤮
I got hit with 6 dollars of capital gains tax this year. That means I made money, right?
6 dollars of tax on realized capital gains.
You captain of industry, you!
EV tax credit this year, so yay! Mortgage is within spittin' distance to being paid off now.
Hit mine this year right where I wanted them. Had to pay in a modest amount. MN Taxes not so much (I think) because they were almost the same as my Fed return. Shrug.
Okay, so I calculated my taxes without our $520 MN one-time tax rebate and my federal tax was $196. Pretty good withholding estimate. When I went back and added it in later, my federal taxes owed went up to $396. Some rebate.
That is a pretty hefty marginal rate on an extra $520 "income."
Aye, But I suppose it could be a bug in the free tax software I bought for $120
Despite corrective measures we still owed 4K this year. Dr. Chop’s employer doesn’t withhold enough and any attempt to talk this through results in divorce. I prefer to remain hitched. On the bright side Louisiana said they’ll give me back 400 bones. I’d prefer if they filled in a pothole……………
The WSox have been shut out a third of their games this year? Ouch!
