Last night was the first time I'd seen the northern lights with the naked eye. I went to Baylor Park along with about 500 others.
Growing up as far north as I did (and in very dark skies), I have many memories of seeing the aurora as a kid. Glad you had the chance to experience it; your photos came out pretty well.
Photos I saw from last night from "back home" showed auroral glow, curtains, and even some corona. My hope is to one day see STEVE, one of the best stories of scientific naming (a "backronym") that there is.
The sad thing is that if I had given up on the Timberwolves a little sooner, I could have seen the peak.
We went past Baylor Park too, but we couldn't see any aurora.
Granted, it being 4:30 probably had something to do with it.
Happy 46th Anniversary of Robert Pollard's Collegiate No-Hitter for all who celebrate (which might just be freealonzo).
I'm going to celebrate by walking to a dive bar and drink Miller Lite while watching the Twins.
I was just thinking that AK has been kinda quiet lately at the plate. Bonus: sockery!
Are we using “old friend” sarcastically now?
I don't belive we'll be seeing our high-leverage portion of the bullpen today
Are you sure about that?
Yeah, you never know...
At this pace, you'll be right for the wrong reason.
The lead is slipping like Sands through the Twins’ fingers.
Uffda.
Saves aren't all they're cracked up to be, guys - how about just sticking with the big lead next time?
That's not Okert.
Nice nab, Eddie.
The bullpen has really sucked today.
This is a very frustrating game, and I'm sure it's frustrating for the Twins, too. It's one where you just have to step back and remind yourself that, as the saying goes, "that's baseball".
Several bullpen placeholders that I have never taken a shine to.

Maybe lead off with a Hamm’s to toast the flag?

One of those days I am glad I had other plans
