Game Log XLVII: Twins at Nationals

They couldn't beat the good teams, so we'll see if they can beat a mediocre team.  It's not looking good so far.  Go Twins!

  1. Nationals with two ex-Twins in the lineup: Eddie Rosario and Joey Gallo. Both are batting below .200. On the bench they have ex-Twin ildemaro Vargas, who's batting .304.

  2. Is Dazzle having health problems, or has he just cut back on his schedule this much? It seems like a long time since I've heard him do a game.

  3. Yes, the Twins have faced some good pitchers, but your offense can't just roll over every time you face a good pitcher.

  4. Well, as the old country song says, I've enjoyed as much of this as I can stand. Good night, everybody.

  5. Anyone else remember (I forget what year it was) when the Twins had a 10-game winning streak and a 10-game losing streak in the same season? This feels like that team.

    1. Looks like that was 1985. They won ten straight from April 21-May1 and lost ten straight from May 21-June 1. They also lost nine straight from April 11-April 20, just before going on their ten-game winning streak.

      1. They finished 77-85 that year, in fourth place in the AL West. Billy Gardner started the season as the manager, but was replaced on or about June 21 by Ray Miller.
