My data was stolen in the 2015 OPM breach, so this should either be interesting or dispiriting.
I would not be surprised if your data was in other breaches as well.
Probably, but given the nature of what that data was collected for, it in particular is rather personally sensitive.
Oy, I had not heard about that one. FFS.
Yeah, we both just scored some boffo free data protection services from Ticketmaster, parent of another recent breach baby. Reportedly they shared encrypted credit card data - does this mean baddo's can use it to buy bit-coin?
I worked in software for many year, the wife in banking. I would never store any credit card information on any website, ever. I'm good about security and I've never been hacked. But a few years ago I paid for gas with my debit card at the pump which had a skimmer on it. The next day somebody tested their new counterfeit card at a Redbox. My wife saw that red flag right away and shut down the card before they started buying TVs and such.
And note that using credit cards instead of debit provides additional protections.
I'm guessing I've been in at least a half dozen breaches. I've just locked my credit with all three credit bureaus.
So, we have a couple of double-hung windows (Sears-branded vinyl, probably installed around 1990-91) where the lower sashes don't always stay open when raised.
I am trying to decide whether this is a repair I want to attempt, or just stick with the chunks of 2X4 I am currently using at night to keep them propped open.
I think these, given the age, are tube balance models (also known as spiral window balances).
Broom handle segments are the recommended hillbilly engineering
Former Hockey Dads recommend broken stick handles.
I use sturdy paint stirrers inserted in the tracks of the double-hung exterior aluminum storms.
I just used my handy-dandy wood splitter to rip a piece of 2X4.
Might need to sand it a bit to avoid splinters, but...
You would likely have to replace parts to affect a repair and those could be hard to find.
2x4's wrapped in ripped-up green curtains could give you that Scarlet O'Hara vibe ever so rare in the Cali haunts.
Looks like someone got into the mushroom coffee this morning.
Google to make Dark Web reports available for free at the end of July.

Hmmm. Considering.
