  1. I'm working at the ballpark tonight and tomorrow and doing some neglected yard work over the weekend but that's about it. Heeding the advice of our governor, I will be cleaning out my gutters and installing some leaf guards.

  2. Heading to the game tonight (Section 3, row 4!), but nothing else specific. I had an appeal brief that was due this week so I've worked something like 2 straight weeks without a day off, so I'm pretty excited about just not going in to the office. We'll probably figure out some local leisure activities.

Odds are good the grill will be on a whole bunch.

  3. Working 9-8 today and tomorrow. Sunday, I am on emergency standby as we are in a 4-5 week window where some staff has left for college and the patio season is still not over. It is always pretty rough around here between August 20 and the end of September. Monday, I am driving up to Duluth to start moving my daughter's things back home. Most of it goes into long term storage as we will take her to Spain next month to begin a school season of teaching English in the Madrid area. 5 days in Barcelona and 7 in Madrid. I am pretty pumped about that!

  4. Putting out the word that my sister is hosting a blood drive in memory of my godson. They took a year off, but are back this year. If anyone is interested in driving to Blaine to donate blood on a Saturday, that'd be amazing. If not, no worries.

    September 7th.

      1. The review of the banh mi was lackluster. I was keen after the purple sticky rice dish but the reviews panned it as well.

    1. Just got home from 7.5 hours at the Fair (my third visit this year, but the kids' first). We're returning late tomorrow afternoon and evening for the stuff the kids missed (mainly the dairy building, the eco building, and crop art).

  5. Lately Chrome browser had been dogging on my (older) PC, and in doing some research, I swapped out Adblock extension for Ublock Origin instead. Not only is it running much speedier again, it's knocking out ads a lot better, too.

    1. Removing ads makes the web significantly more tolerable at the probable expense of not funding the sites you are visiting.

    2. One of these days I'll actually get around to building the PiHole I've been saying for years I'm going to make

    3. I switched to Brave a year or so ago. All the thumbs up, and not in a creepy, Arlington cemetery way.

  6. My wife and I have both had super busy weeks (her more than me), so I’m pretty sure her meetings and my grading will extend into the weekend. I’m looking forward to some lounging in and by the pool time at some point this weekend. Highs in the upper 90s here may require it.
