  1. According to the Star Tribune, Joe Pohlad says that the payroll cuts did not hurt the Twins this year.

    I feel better.

      1. Where is Thad Levine in all of this? What does he do as GM? Primarily arbitration, contract negotiations, and draft pick negotiations? Or is he shaping analysis, scouting, and & player development? I have no sense of his responsibilities within the organization.

      2. They had to do that. The only other option is for them to take responsibility themselves, and that simply won't do.

  2. Maybe this time the Twins won't crawl back to DSG?

    1. I would go the ballpark early when I worked that year to sit in the left field bleachers and watch him hit taters. When he was in the cage, everyone watching paid attention. It was like an old EF Hutton commercial.

    1. Shomon is the only one that surprised me here. I figured he was probably safe since he worked his way up entirely during the Falvey period.
