Whenever I see one of these Rivian trucks, especially if it's white, the only thing I can think of is Baymax.

This weekend I learned about something only eastern Ukraine and the Lake Agassiz valley share: the thickest deposits of chernozem
When you think about the agricultural activity in each region, there’s probably a reason one was known as the Breadbasket of Europe and one forms a major part of the Breadbasket of the World.
Considering that Polk County isn't near the largest county in the state yet leads the state in Spring Wheat, Sugar Beets, Soybeans, and ranks high also in Barley and Potatoes, among others, it's pretty obvious we owe a lot to the ol' lake bottom.
It’s not a deliberate throwback so far as I know, but the Rivian R1S (the SUV model) makes me think of the third-gen International Harvester Travelall that Pops Hayes drove when I was a kid.
In the unlikely event I ever get a Rivian, I’m probably obligated by patrimony to repaint it in Grenoble Green, add “wood grain” side panels, and install a mid-Fifties Oldsmobile hood ornament.
Those trucks cost more than our house did when we first bought it.
Well, I can say that I love that.
Carlos Santana is an AL Gold Glove finalist at first base.
and rightly so
And Castro too (under the "Utility" position, which I didn't know was a category)!
The utility position only started in 2022. It's a good choice because there are a couple players that deserve recognition but didn't play enough at one position to rank highly there.
I'm gonna call this one the Tovar mitt.
Nice.
About those announcements Rawlings is releasing...
Maybe this was true in the past? But checking over their finalists announcements from last year, this doesn't seem remotely true.
Of the 20 gold glovers last season, 6 were listed first, 9 were listed second, 5 were listed third.
That's a pretty eclectic mix.
I wonder what their ordering is then. Alphabetic makes the most sense but perhaps by team? Checking over this season's and there doesn't seem to be any consistency. Maybe they really did sort them randomly. If so, I appreciate the ability to feed into wild conspiracies.
The Gourds are giving off strong "New Twins" vibes.
It's going to be a freakin' subway series, isn't it.
It'll be quite insufferable one way or another.
I think the Dodgers still have a chance. Either way, though, unless Cleveland comes back, it's a disappointing end to the season. Because it shows once again that, no matter how much fun you have during the regular season, in the end, it all comes down to who spends the most money.
It does have the benefit of making it easy to not pay attention to be able to do more productive things.
