Not sure how to take these citizen comments about bar ownership? Do I really make it seem so miserable? Let me share a little Pros vs Cons exercise with you all:
Pro- Your gross sales are typically pretty impressive at the end of the year.
Con- When you look at your net income percentage... WTF??
Pro- You get to play with food and have access to crazy good grub each day
Con- This sucks when you are trying to keep your weight down.
Pro- If you run a great joint it sometimes feels like you are a rock star in your town
Con- People then flock to you to tell you how they love your place, and then follow up with donation requests
Pro- You are not stuck in a 9-5 daily grind
Con- You often work odd hours every week
All kidding aside, it is a rewarding venture for some and a nightmare for many. I have been fortunate that I have been able to carve out a place in the industry that makes me happy, helps pay the family bills and I can take time off to travel when I want to. It helps having a larger business that demands/supports a management team of 5-6 people. My dad's place was small and he worked his @ss off every day and barely scratched out a living. In the end, I would do it again. That being said, I would never buy/run a small joint like my dad had.
Target already advertises they will match any of their prices for two months: November 7 through December 24. You do have to pay attention but it is convenient to buy when there is stock and deal with potential savings later.
I thought this was cheering for the CC on the 2025 HoF ballot.
No. No it is not.
few things interest me less than owning a bar.
One of my lottery dreams is to own a little six seat bar in the Namba district of Osaka, but besides that, yeah, I'm good.
(Wait, one other lottery dream was a brewpub/curling club as a collaboration with cheaptoy and FTLT. That one too.)
Heh, that brewpub idea might be less enticing to me these days...
If I hit the lotto Iβll find your namba bar dreams.
The only way I own a bar is if I win a 9 figure powerball and I don't have to care about the books
"Oh no, my bar lost money? Whatever will I do?"

You run a wonderful, classy establishment with an amazing menu.
My bar will be an absolute shithole with bags of chips and Heggie's as the only options for food.
You will have to bring in some pickled eggs and pickled gizzards if you are going the shithole route!
I know you guys were worried, but you can rest assured now the Scott Blewitt is back with the organization.
The name alone inspires so much confidence.
How much longer before the "Black Friday Week!" misnomer becomes "Black Friday Month!" π ?

Funny you should mention "Target" and "stock"...
Twins and Wolves better start putting out feelers for naming rights on their stadia
Huh. Ohtani joins Frank Robinson as the only players in MLB history to win both AL and NL MVP.
Also the only player with more than one unanimous MVP and he now has three of them.
Spent some time reorganizing some kitchen cabinets today, only to discover that my maseca and 00 flour were infested with pantry moths.
Fuuuuuu.
.I ordered some new Cambros. Apparently the containers I was using were not airtight enough.
