The area of Japan I went to school in is dealing with a strange infestation: Bears! Like, seriously, bears have been everywhere lately. I visited there on my last trip, and in all the parks and such, there were plenty of signs warning you to stay on your guard. Apparently the local newspaper has a dedicated daily section on bear information. I, of course, didn't learn this until I got to the city, and not when I was wandering around the nearby countryside alone at night on my way in the night before.

Okay, this whole Co'C is trolling a certain Citizen, right?
Maaaayyyybbbbeeee.
If I forced you to guess, which team would you hazard has the best record in the NHL this season so far?
oh, oh, I know! On a related note, I fell asleep after the first period last night because I had only gotten about three hours the previous night. Missed all the good stuff.
They've gotten me to watch a few times as a result.
I love being a bandwagon fan.
It makes it a little hard to know who's who and what's what, but other than that, best way to fan if you ask me.
It's definitely how I'm approaching this season of IU football.
Next year, when they are inevitably taking it down to the last week or two of the season to make the most bottom tier bowl, I'll be way less invested than this year's juggernaut
This was a decent article about the Wild and their success. Gift Link.

Re: Japan - NBBW will be running the Tokyo Marathon in March, so we’ll be spending some time there. So I’ve been doing Duolingo 日本語 since the middle of September, and am wrestling thru the jungle of katakana/hiragana/romaji.
Got some good film recommends which I’ve watched and enjoyed.
Drive My Car and Perfect Days. NBBW now wants to visit all of the public restrooms in Shibuki...
Also got a tip to visit a Mpls kaiseki joint. Might try to do over the holidays (ping me if you’re interested…).
Bears are cool.
Wild story about the United Healthcare CEO. Shot by a guy using a silencer. Sounds like a movie.
A friend of mine knew him well. Two boys in high school. Sad.
Okay, this is oddly coincidental. I got interested in air guns awhile back and I've watched a lot of videos of guys shooting stuff with them. About an hour ago I saw the surveillance cam video of the murder. The way the shooter handled the weapon he appears to be hand chambering a round after each shot with a lever on the left side of the gun. This is a common ammo feeding mechanism for larger bore air pistols and rifles. I read one report saying it appears the gun was jamming and the shooter was clearing the chamber, but he does it after every shot and there were at least three shots fired that I could see. But the video isn't real clear and my eyes are old. This is just a wild story in a lot of ways, and the reaction to it online has been...interesting.
