Years ago, I found what seemed like an Anglicized version of the weird Casio keyboard I had as a kid. Didn't work though, and I just kind of left it at work (where I had it delivered). A co-worker that had a handy spouse found it, took it home, and brought it back good as new. Much like my parents, I've been listening to the Toy Symphony a lot.

One of the Poissonnière’s gifts this year was a Loog Piano. She is almost five years in on piano lessons, and this is both a creative “toy” and a sneaky way to support practicing while on the road. But the big plus: having a portable keyboard that supports midi over USB-C opens the door to composing in GarageBand with the same cable that charges her tablet. I’m looking forward to hearing new music in 2025.
RIP, Jimmy Carter, author of the greatest post-presidency in American history.
Amen.
A good man the whole way around. May there be many more like him.
On the fifth day of Christmas, we finally opened out presents. In addition to other things, Elder Daughter got a new gaming/graphic design monitor and Younger Daughter got a combo jump starter/air compressor/power station. I got Mrs. Twayn a set of Zwilling kitchen knives and the kids got her a Staub Dutch oven. I got a deep green Irish wool Aren fisherman's roll neck sweater and some bar tools, a book of cocktail recipes, gift certificates for Murray's and the Chanhassen, wool socks (traditional), and a well-stuffed stocking. No grievances.
Envy for the sweater. Love me some Irish knits, no need for them in the swamp.
I have been very pleased with my Staub Dutch ovens. I hope Mrs. Twayn enjoys the performance of hers as much as I have mine.
Timberwolves are playing assketball again tonight.
Ended up okay. Man, Wemby is a freak of nature.
Yeah, good recovery but that first quarter was not pretty.
I texted some friends about how good the Vikings looked…and then all hell broke loose. Sorry about that!
Their performance always seems to be inverse to expectation.
I was at an event and they were up by a bit and someone said it's looking good, and I said, just wait.
Tortured fan-base. If the Chiefs win a close game where they made a ton of mistakes, fans are like, "That's Mahomes, we're just winners!"
Tell that to the odds makers who predicted 6.5 wins on the season
But... but that's... that's exactly my point.
Turned on the game in the third quarter at 20-3 and in anticipation told my girl that if they started playing bad, we had to turn it off. Green Bay promptly scored…
We kept watching anyway, sorry for the scare everybody. My bad.
