December 29, 2024: SK-1

Years ago, I found what seemed like an Anglicized version of the weird Casio keyboard I had as a kid. Didn't work though, and I just kind of left it at work (where I had it delivered). A co-worker that had a handy spouse found it, took it home, and brought it back good as new. Much like my parents, I've been listening to the Toy Symphony a lot.

  1. One of the Poissonnière’s gifts this year was a Loog Piano. She is almost five years in on piano lessons, and this is both a creative “toy” and a sneaky way to support practicing while on the road. But the big plus: having a portable keyboard that supports midi over USB-C opens the door to composing in GarageBand with the same cable that charges her tablet. I’m looking forward to hearing new music in 2025.

  2. On the fifth day of Christmas, we finally opened out presents. In addition to other things, Elder Daughter got a new gaming/graphic design monitor and Younger Daughter got a combo jump starter/air compressor/power station. I got Mrs. Twayn a set of Zwilling kitchen knives and the kids got her a Staub Dutch oven. I got a deep green Irish wool Aren fisherman's roll neck sweater and some bar tools, a book of cocktail recipes, gift certificates for Murray's and the Chanhassen, wool socks (traditional), and a well-stuffed stocking. No grievances.

    1. Turned on the game in the third quarter at 20-3 and in anticipation told my girl that if they started playing bad, we had to turn it off. Green Bay promptly scored…
We kept watching anyway, sorry for the scare everybody. My bad.
