I've been trying to figure out the Vikingest thing for the Vikings to do. There are many possibilities, but the one I'm going with is that they win tonight, thus securing a first-round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and then lose their first playoff game two weeks from now.
We “got to” spend another night in a hotel outside DFW last night. Our incoming plane sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes before getting to the gate, then the sky tram went down while we were on it. So we got off the train and sprinted across two terminals (with me in a wheelchair with my knee injured) in a failed attempt to make it before they closed the gate.
I don’t know that I have ever missed a connection, and I definitely haven’t had to stay overnight before this trip, but this time we got stuck in Dallas both directions.
Been through that a few times, it is some crazy weather. We had one the day before my youngest was born that dropped half a foot of slush that flash froze in the arctic blast immediately following. I drove my laboring wife to the hospital at 5:00 am in subzero temperatures on roads that had big ruts frozen into the ice, it was like driving a slot car but jumping track from one slot to the next every minute or two.
There are certain long-suffering franchises I want to continue in that fashion. I want Cleveland to never win a world series, for example. Lions fit that for me. Not sure why, but they do.
Today I went to an impromptu 3 hours of deep aikido study (awesome experience, totally sore now!) So, the ac just kicked on. highs in the 40s tomorrow. The Vikings Viking’d. And I have to go back to work tomorrow. Bummer about that last bit.
I'm hoping the Vikes can get a week of vacation

Sounds about right.
Unless your school district takes Three Kings Day off. Though the kids already resumed school, they get a bonus long weekend right away.
...or you're getting your first solid winter weather since Thanksgiving

For those who love big man moves in sports:
No idea why he was dropped back into coverage.
That is a really big man. I was wondering the same. I supposed the read got weird somehow and he had to pick up an unexpected back or something.
THUNDERSNOW!! I even noticed the flash

A good 8" so far, and just warm enough to stick a bit to the shovel. More to come overnight
Not often you get a playoff game in the regular season.
And in the end we didn't?
similar results. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I genuinely don't mind this year. I do like the idea of Lions schadenfreude though.
Yeah, house money and all. I'm trying to decide if I believe that losing will build character or something.
Disagreeing on the second point though. If not the Vikings, I want the Lions to win.

The Spiders and Browns both deserve years of suffering based on their choices. Not sure why the Lions earn such a fate though.
Darnold has thrown it over about 6 receiver's heads.
wide right
