Get those 1040s in, Citizens! I was, shockingly, a little late getting mine in this year, but they're in. Ours isn't so complex so we just use that one software, but I finally remembered to buy it from Costco instead of the website to save on filing fees.

It get it's probably a little too late, but I moved away from TurboTax this year and went to 1040.com. It was $29.99 which included the state of MN, versus what would've been close to $200 with TT. It's pretty bare bones but gets the job done. The bonus is that I am out of the Intuit system, which is priceless.
whoa, $200?! I've never paid more than $60, and that includes several fed eFiles plus state of MO, so Runner daughter also uses it. Ebay ftw
If you do the TT web version and sign up after March 15 it's like $130 for Federal and $60 for State. One can get it for cheaper by filing early February.
I usually buy TT off Ebay in late January for ~$50-$60 for a version with 5 Federal w/eFile + state and have ballpark idea of tax bill by mid-late February.

I paid $130 using Turbotax this year. I'm going to look into this 1040.com business because I have no wealth and always just take the standard deduction so being nowhere near intuit sounds wonderful.
on a related note, I got a letter from the IRS yesterday saying they did not accept my explanation and submittal of my W2s from the previous company I worked for to correct their reported income, which was double what they actually paid me (but correct on my W2). So now I get to try to convince that company to submit a corrected income statement, which is frustrating because that's what I asked them to do in the first effin place. Alternatively, they could send me a check for $40k.
Now that I'm retired, I was actually able to get my taxes done early in the season for the first time ever.
Since we've been working our current jobs our annual tax reconciliation is usually a push, what we get back from federal we owe to the state. This year because of changes to the standard deduction and taxable income calculations we're getting $1600 back from federal and $200 back from the state. That should pay for our trip to Portland in June, which is nice.
Because dr. Chop’s employer’s hr department is incompetent we’ve had to pay an ass load of money the last four years. This year it was 5700 dollars. She swears they’ve corrected the withholding situation now…. I don’t care for taxes as much as the next person, but it’s really, really hard this year to break off that cash and hand it over to these knuckleheads.
Final game of the Wild regular season tonight. Do we get to see the debut of Zeev?
If they get at least one point, they are in as the #1 wild-card and face Las Vegas in round 1.
If they lose in regulation they depend on either St. Louis or Calgary getting less than two points in their games to make the playoffs.
If Minnesota loses in regulation and Calgary wins tonight, the playoff series will not be set until after Thursday's Flames-Kings game.
No Zeev tonight. Keeping him as a secret weapon for the playoffs.

Value is a function of cost and quality. People just are not seeing the value in paying to watch a losing team that should be a winning team. The ownership failure to invest in talent is driving low turnout, probably lower than expected TV subscription revenue as well. That in turn will drive lower team value, making it even more difficult to find a buyer at the price they apparently want. It's a downward spiral that only winning can fix.
