Still high off that game last night. It was such a good, team win. Just locking down the Lakers on all fronts. I think Luka ended up with close to 40 points, but it felt pretty empty. And no one else was stepping up for the Lakers, or at least the Wolves weren't letting anyone. Jaden McDaniels is a problem. So good to see his evolution this year is now on display on the national stage.
Oh, and Naz Reid.
Like we were talking about, virtually no one in picking the Wolves this series. I knew that was a bit overblown, but hopefully they stuff it in the league's face.
Elder Daughter opines that we have an edge in this series because of bench depth. We win most of the minutes when the starters are sitting. And she says the strategy of letting Luka do his thing and shutting down everyone else is a winner. I think the team is coalescing at just the right time. Tuesday should be fun, if we can take two from LA on their court, that's huge. But I expect the Lakers will have an extra man or two on the floor with them to make sure the series evens out.
There was a point in the 4th quarter the announcer said Luka had 32 points and I said to myself "really?" because it seemed like the Wolves had him all locked up and he was missing a ton too.
Arráez was carted off the field in Houston after the second baseman collided with Luis as he tried to beat Arráez to the bag. Looks like a head injury and possible concussion situation.
That was such a freak injury, awful to see it. I didn't see any good alternate angles, but I wonder if he caught an inadvertent elbow to the chin or something. With the second baseman's momentum carrying him up the line, or somewhere between up the line and toward foul territory, it seems so unexpected that there would have been enough force to really injure him that badly.

I haven't watched much of the Lakers this year but beyond Luka, LeBron, and Reeves, they're pretty bad. The Wolves 8th man is better than their 4th.

Free game of the day on MLB.

I can see why.
ah hell, they're breaking Ryan too?
This whole team is broken, I'm afraid. It's not unrepairable, if someone had the will to fix it. Therein lies the rub.
2BUX!
4BUX!
(naturally the bases were empty.)
Whole loooot of LOBs today. Already up to 9 over 5 innings.
