The Mariners gave up six runs in the top of the tenth yesterday but that was still an improvement over their game on Thursday where they surrendered seven runs in the tenth.
There was a pretty funny exchange between Provus & Plouffe in the bottom of the tenth that centered around Gladden. Plouffe remarked on the number of pairs of glasses Wrench was wearing, which led to musing on how strong he was and whether Plouffe could take him (Plouffe expressed doubt), which ended with Provus saying, “It didn’t end well for Lombo.”
I've watched this several times and still can't quite believe it happened.
This is one of the wildest thing I've ever seen - Oregon pitcher hits a clump of dirt that flew off her cleat with the pitch and it explodes in mid-air pic.twitter.com/ESRseFmh7t
Weather is cooling down, starting tomorrow. The Twins' series in West Sac will be played in reasonable weather. Look for me down the first base line (Section 103, Row 27) on Wednesday.
My new electric lawnmower is awesome. Quiet, light, maneuverable, self-propelled, no fumes, doesn't kick up dust, senses thicker/longer grass and adds torque as needed. Don't think I'll be going back.
Is the 85% the overall rate, including older kids and adults, or for young children? A report by the CDC from 2024 indicates the vaccination rate in Wisconsin for young childred (under 4) was still around 91%. Minnesota was estimated around 92%.
It is a little unclear. Reference might be to a February publication from Johns Hopkins researchers analyzing "MMR rates in kindergarten -age children in the 37 states that make county-level data available."
That statement came a couple of sentences before the one I quoted above, albeit on the page before, so I missed the implication.
Per the CDC, 84.8 pct of Wisconsin kindergartners in 2023-24 were up to date on MMR. Definitionally, that means the percentage who had had both doses, so some higher share has had at least one. (Minnesota was at 87 pct, Iowa 89.1 pct).

Them garbage piling-on runs do wonders messing with your run differential

That tenth inning was awesome. Good thing it was a Friday night or I would have given up and gone to bed after the 8th.
The Lynx finished the game off nicely last night as well.

It really doesn’t seem like that should be possible, does it.
It doesn't have the pizzazz of Randy Johnson and the bird, but seems like the odds are vastly worse for that to happen.
90 degrees at noon here, heading towards 104, after 102 yesterday . I'm already tired.

Right! Done mowing? Store it right away - no cooling down, no gassy smell.

Mine even has handles that rotate up so you can tip it on end and store it upright, big space saver.
Per the Economist this week, "no county in Wisconsin has an MMR vaccination rate above 85 percent."
Herd immunity requires 95+ percent vaccination rate for measles.
Was it 95 in the past? How quickly has it dropped?
A senator from a neighboring state has a unique take on those numbers

That makes sense and fits the report I linked to where they looked at children that had at least one dose rather than all doses.
Welcome back, Matt
right now the crack of the bat when Carlos Correa is up is different, in a good way
If there was actually a fire in Seattle, apparently everyone would die.
Could actually use a higher of our RISP scoring right now
Alcala looks broken. His pitches aren't even close.
I say as he effs up a double play ball.
Unggggggh
Definitely Mr Jorge tonight instead of Dr Alcala
glad I'm not a Mariners fan this week
I've no beef with the Mariners, but that seems to be the case since like 1995.
right...I mean they're my second favorite team
Here we go again...
what a throw from Julio
Wallner not exactly covering himself in glory on the bases.
Mags should be happy with the outcome of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Bader this inning instead of Wallner - that's an improvement
That was a really stupid loss.
This. Watkinsed is the new Ullgered.
