ROCHESTER 9, NORFOLK 6 IN ROCHESTER
Batting stars: Sean Burroughs was 4-for-5 with two doubles. Rene Rivera was 2-for-2 with two walks and drove in three. Matt Carson was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double and scored three times.
Pitching star: Esmerling Vasquez struck out six in 4.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Joe Mahoney was 3-for-5. Nate McLouth hit a three run homer.
Key inning: The seventh. Already ahead 5-2, the Red Wings struck for four to put the game out of reach. Rochester had three doubles in the inning, including a two run double by Rivera.
ERIE 9, NEW BRITAIN 7 IN ERIE
Batting stars: James Beresford was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Chris Colabello was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in three.
Pitching star: Blake Martin worked 1.2 perfect innings.
Opposition stars: Bryan Pounds was 2-for-4 with a triple and a homer. Jordan Lennerton was 2-for-4 with a double and a homer, driving in four.
Key inning: The fifth. Trailing 4-0, the Rock Cats scored three times to get back into the game. A two run single by Colabello was the key hit. The SeaWolves got all three runs back in the bottom of the inning on a single, two doubles, and a triple. New Britain never got that close again.

Batting stars: Tyler Grimes was 2-for-3 with a walk. Adam Bryant was 2-for-4 and drove in two.
Pitching star: Steven Gruver worked six innings, giving up three hits and two walks. Corey Williams threw three shutout innings, allowing a hit and three walks.
Opposition stars: Raul Alcantara pitched six innings, surrendering two runs on five hits and a walk.
Key inning: The seventh. Leading 2-0, the Snappers put together a double and three singles to double their lead. Bryant and Grimes each came through with an RBI single.
DSL WHITE SOX 7, TWINS 3 AT WHITE SOX
Batting stars: Adonis Pacheco was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and two walks. Eddy Concepcion was 2-for-5 with a double. Dubal Baez was 2-for-4 with a walk.
Pitching star: Javier Vargas threw 2.1 scoreless innings, surrendering only one hit.
Opposition stars: Jeffy Santos was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk, scoring three times. Darwin Matos struck out six in four innings, yielding one run on three hits and a walk.
Key inning: The second. Leading 3-1, the White Sox scored two more. With the bases loaded, catcher Concepcion made a throwing error which allowed the runs to score. The Twins never got back into the game.
