So Weiters is Mauer with Pauer and defense? Twins shoulda drafted Prior and just waited for Weiters.
Funny, BBRef has Wieters' best comp as Kurt Suzuki.
For those keeping track at home, this is Wieters' age 26 season, anyone remember what Joe did during his age 26 season?
Hit 132 singles?
Boooooooooooooooooooo
If Mauer and Butera are #5 and #6 respectively, Imagine what would happen if Matt LeCroy caught for Carl Pavano?
Then even Snappy D Turtle would steal a base.
Or even LeCroy could steal a base!
Washington Post once posed the great metaphysical question: what would happen if Matt LeCroy tried to steal a base off of Matt LeCroy?
Butters looks like he's trying out for Pope...
Did Alex Avila have a previous career we didn't know about?
Guess I'll have to call him Chief from now on.
Jeter cowering is a nice touch.
Ugh, Ikea designed products make the Chrysler Pacifica look like a f&@$ing engineering marvel. Europeans, ammiright?
Koreans, too. Have you seen a Kia lately?
It's 8:15 a.m., and 82 degrees. Heading for 108 degrees today according to the forecast. I think I will be hiding at home.

Even though its for the Sox, I'm really happy to see that Dunn isn't. Seems like he might have comeback player of the year wrapped up already.
Hi, I'm new here.
Thought I should warn folks that I just picked up Plouffe in my fantasy league, so that should pretty much end any significant production on his part.
Sounds foreboding, like we should've left before Zee German got here.
Welcome, btw. Kick off the shoes, stay a while, don't look in the basement.
And if Philo offers you a pigeon, walk away slowly.
Saw the pigeon business...funny coincidence, we've been trying to eliminate them from the warehouse at work. Finally were able to trap a few, but can't find anyone interested in doing away with them. Bit of a gap in my planning.
Welcome, Deutsches Zed. Good to have you on board. We are small, but we're über alles.
Glad to hear you got that far. And around to signing up. I don't think I can handle another pigeon here though.
regarding pigeon disposal, may I humbly suggest:
Welcome Herr German (as long as you're not pro-Tommy Herr - no one should be pro-Tommy Herr).
Ooh! Do we have our first new regular since Can of Corn/bhiggum?
I've noticed you lurking (I'm not stalking you, I swear) like a lot of folks did around here at first. I'm glad you seem to feel at home.
What am I, chopped pigeon liver?
Whoops, sorry. I've known you for so long at CdL I tend to forget you when thinking of the history of this place.
Oh, and I'll attest that this guy kills baseball players with his pick-ups faster than anyone else ever could. Serious damage awaits. Once upon a time, he picked up a young pitcher named Roy Hobbs.
I heard that that Hobbs guy was a lights-out hitter.
He could really knock the cover off the ball.
Had some maturity issues, however. When he got Close, he started seeing red. Took him years to pull it back together.
Best there ever was.
Plouffe with the bases empty: .293/.370/.793
Plouffe with men on base: .172/.232/.297
Plouffe since Valencia was sent down May 9: .282/.315/.718
Mauer-esque splits!!!
Boooo.
And to think I wanted him to be batting cleanup yesterday (never spoke it).
Gardy should bat him leadoff. That's one guaranteed bases-empty plate appearance every game!
worked for Brady Anderson!
Plouffe when leading off an inning: .222/.323/.407
Noticed I had no auto or game-used cards of Plouffe! in my collection, so I went casually browsing for him on The Bay. Should have looked a couple weeks ago.
That's a lot of different tags you tacked onto this one, Rhu.
Trev is the kind of Marvel character that comes along only once in a generation!
I liked them...usually overlook the tags. Thanks for the heads-up bhigs.
I noticed that, too, and chuckled. Well done.
Finished my dualathlon* in 1:31:20. I was hoping for 1:30:00.
*Lake wasn't swimmable, so we ran-biked-ran instead.
If the lake is unswimmable, I can't imagine running across it would be much easier.
Beer time now?
Beer time now?
Oh sweet baby Mauer, that is delicious.
Time to take a shower, get a case of Grain Belt, and watch football all day.
Oh, grainbelt how I miss you.
and biking!

Passan on Morneau.
Nothing beats the terroir of ... New Jersey???
Fitting end to a day entitled "Corked". Now I really love cheap red wine!
Bryce Harper ended up with a Platinum Sombrero today. Ouch.
I was at the game July 12th 2009 when Joe Mauer earned a golden sombrero.
