Twins Broadcasts moving to FM in the cities?
I'd support this.
Meh, I still want an AM broadcast that can reach Central Illinois.
And I want to be able to hear a game when I can see it from the window of my office.
I assume that changes the flagship, but the local AM stations will still carry it.
Wait, are you saying that 'CCO made it to C. Ill?
there were times I'd get CCO in St. Louis.
I had an uncle in Kentucky for a while back in the '90's, and he said he'd get WCCO there sometimes too.
WCCO used to be (maybe still is) one of the FCC-designated clear-channel stations on the AM band. When I was a kid living in Ohio we could often get baseball games on the radio from Detroit, Pittsburg, Chicago and St. Louis, depending on atmospheric conditions.
I can barely find a station in Northern Iowa. Usually my best bet is 570 out of Yankton*.
*During station identifications, I always mutter about those "Yankton c*******ers". Too much "Deadwood"
Are the Twins games on WNAX still sponsored by Al Larson's Pit Charger?
Yup- probably will be for as long as there are manure pits and baseball.
I was wondering what my oldest brother was doing nowdays.
Yesterday's Brandon "Bad Knees" Roy was perplexing from Sid, kind of felt like he wasn't writing the column. That column, however, is more up Sid's alley.
Yep, that's Sid.
Well, "technically" he was responsible for the Twins staying. I mean, he did change his mind, afterall.
Had he been more competent in getting his way, the Twins would not have stayed. So, we truly owe our team to the largesse of his failure.
Yep, that's Sid.
I don't know, I didn't see that Selig was labelled as his friend anywhere.
Its a savoy move by the Pohlads. Buy radio station. Move baseball right from CCO to KSTP and have Hubbard pay you over a million bucks a year to air the rights. Then move the baseball right to your radio station.
Mmmmm - pizza

Norm Coleman's father's favorite place!
I'm partial to the original.
Cap'n Karl tells me the Olympics are going on, you guys.
I can't think of a better archtype to represent the modern American male.

So much joy here.
"That is awesome, that is absolutely awesome." I couldn't agree more.
Alabama Shakes!
Sheenie and I are also going tonight. Anyone else?
I wish.
Just found out about a last minute Dave Chappelle show at the Orpheum tonight. Announced yesterday and sold out in hours. Trying hard to find tickets, but no luck so far.
The Twins led all of MLB in scoring in July. They finished 12-14 but had their first positive run differential for a month. Since May 16, when Revere and Plouffe were made mainstays in the lineup, the Twins are 34-34. The Twins have their entire everyday lineup under control for next season. I don't think the Twins are as far from contending as many believe, especially in a weak division. Next year could be like 2008. With a strong lineup, TR doesn't have to bring in top of the line pitchers. He can just focus on his specialty of plucking unknowns from other organizations and watching them develop into solid major leaguers (ala Scott Diamond).
Or guys like Scott Diamond could turn into Nick Blackburn.
Hush, you!
That LTE singed my eyeballs. I had to cry to make the sting go away.
I don't think contending next year is out of the question. I'm not predicting it, but there are ways it could happen that are not all that outlandish.
With the right moves and a little luck I could see this happening. By the end of January I'll be counting on it.
This.
One of the many great things about baseball is the Hot Stove League-driven renewal of optimism.
Hope Springs eternal.
As of yesterday, I have a new supervisor. As of today, I discovered a new level of wanting to quit that I didn't previously think existed.
Still no word from the prospective employer?
Aye. But they've been awfully busy the last week, so I don't blame 'em for not getting back to me yet.
That sucks, man. Just grit your teeth and smile, right?
And send out more job applications, yup.
Something like this is always an option, too. (NSFW audio)

the road to the olympics isn't always pretty.
Huh. Brothels usually end up costing guys money, not making them money.
It's hard out here for a pimp.
i think you meant to say, "pimpin' ain't easy."
Fo' shizzle. Somebody gotta do it.
Nothing is impossible but the bottom 3 teams in ERA are the Rockies, Twins, and Astros. I don't think it is coincedence that they have 3 of the worst records in baseball.
The current team is similar to the teams of the mid1990s. I expect similar results.
Did we just make our Scott Klingenbeck trade?!?
Time will tell!

Is there anything bacon can't do?
I'm more interested in the coffee infusion than the bacon one. Just sayin'.
Is Paul Williams still alive? Now Playing at a subsidized arts noveau centre near you.
That guy was huge in the 70s. Figuratively, of course.
He'll be a monkey's uncle.

Alex Wimmers is having TJ surgery today. They could have done this months ago.
Good news: At a time when I am desperately looking for a change, I just got a job interview.
Bad news: It's for yet another temp position that is even lamer than the one I'm doing now. My career seems to keep moving backwards.
So...ummm.....knock 'em dead?
I guess, right? Depending on what kind of money they offer, I'd probably take it just for the change of scenery it would represent.
Really good news: my AK-47 jersey arrived today.
Great, I have to listen to bozos talk about how Carmelo is awesome tomorrow. Terrific.
Owner of the la printshop called today. He wants me to fly out to la next weekend to 'have a chat'. Crazy.
all expenses paid for a printer in demand such as yourself, right?
Yeah, I'm sure we'll work out the kinks.
awesome. godspeed, fair
wolfwizard.Well, we saw the Storm Chasers beat Reno 4-2, but tonight's Twins game rocked -- good one, guys
