  1. They were definitely played at the old basement. That's how I learned of them back in their Rubber Factory days.

    This song is probably my favorite off the last album.

  3. Dare I confess that for a while there I kind of had the Black Eyed Peas and the Black Keys mixed up in my mind? Thanks for helping to clear up any lingering confusion!

    1. You could have had them confused with the black lips, or the black eyed snakes as well.

  5. i gotta say, these guys still haven't clicked for me. i've listened to a couple of their albums, but it hasn't caught yet.

    2. I was hooked from Attack and Release on. I guess the black keys are just for the cool kids.

      1. Rubber Factory was my first introduction. They are my favorite band of the past five years.

    3. Don't do much for me either.
      I may be biased against them just for the number of time I've read their name and thought it meant Black Dice.
      Like when I thought I read that Black Dice was playing Roy Wilkins, but it was only Black Keys.
      Actually, those two bands should tour with Black Lips for the "very unlikely to have any common fans Black Things Tour".

    4. I think they peaked around Rubber Factory and have had diminishing returns for me since, especially since they started working with Danger Mouse. Their production style on their last few records doesn't jibe with the way my mind expects them to sound, or something like that (but good for them that they found a method to massively increase their commercial viability that way).
