Dick Stockton AND Bert Blyleven in the booth? there might be a lot of confusion in the booth today.
A game I can watch!
I would like to ask, once again, why the hell Fox thinks any part of Wisconsin would want to watch Tampa Bay at f***ing Los Angeles.
Fox exec: "Where is this Wisconsin place again?"
Good point, though you'd think they'd just accidentally broadcast a flyover game here.
because the Brewers are the Wisconisn team and they are a National League city
I suppose i "get" that, but i still think it's stupid. I mean, of they have to do it that way, at least show Bal-SF, which makes a hair more geographic sense. But even still, from a ratings standing, it can't possibly make sense to care about national/american league.
Judging by my infrequently-viewed news feed on the book of face, most Wisconsinites have transitioned into football mode. Considering they would have done that even if the Brewers were in contention, I'm guessing FOX execs didn't bother to care.
As someone who can't stand pro football, the obsession with it hereabouts during baseball season is one of the state's more annoying traits.
As someone who relatively recently transitioned into hating pro (or any level, really), I completely agree. Come to think of it, I do recall a large portion of last night's news being stupid.
Cheers; I should have lumped college football, at least in its current form (as well as all proposals to "reform" by paying players), into that hatred as well. I loathe our athletic department and what it represents within the university.
Due to circumstances somewhat but not entirely beyond our control, Minor Details will be somewhat delayed this morning. It should be up within the next hour or less.
Lots of credit given to Angle Hernandez Well, there's a first time for everything.
Tomorrow's project(s): Shuck 2 bushels of green chili (hatch season in NOLA is short, the demand through the year is great), and make home made ginger ale. I'm working out a recipe for a light bodied beer that prominently features ginger, and the LHB guys suggested I make a trial run with ginger soda. A few rounds of dark and stormy will be had.
Oh man, I could go for a dark & stormy or 4 right now.
Father-in-law, a couple of friends and I played an 18 hole scramble at the local golf course today.
Final result: a 59 and delicious victory. Not a huge purse, but enough to buy beers and dinner for the players and their plus ones. Good times.
I played in a 18 hole scramble with three of my co-workers yesterday. We ended up with a 68 and third place in the third flight, which was good for thirty bucks apiece. I didn't even get a ball on the green on the par 3's where a hole in one would have won $10,000.
One of the guys in my group came literally two inches short of a hole in one on the money hole. I put mine two feet away on the "closest to pin" hole, so that was a little extra.
I love scrambles. They're always the highlight of the golfing year for me.
Last time I was in a four-man scramble I think we didn't even break 80
meat: you may have missed this last night in the fitness thread. party here catered by Whole Hog. excellent pulled pork, ribs, and sides.
Twins play in a FOX 'nation' game this afternoon. here is a broadcast map
